Green Day {15} & Friday Fences {51}

Sorry, it's just an assortment from my archives again.  The first one is of the Bath skyline and the rest are taken out and about in West Wiltshire.

Trowbridge Park

I haven't had time to take any new photos this week so these are from my archive - taken in the local park a few weeks ago.

Coulston

I haven't been able to take any photos this week so today's offering is from my archives - taken in the summer when I went to see the Church of St Thomas a Becket at Coulston.  This is the church that has a watercress pond behind it.

26 Week Photo Challenge - From the Hip

This time the challenge is 'from the hip'. I've had a lot of fun doing this, but haven't ended up with any 'wow' shots - most were complete rubbish.  Here's the best of a bad bunch.

Linking with Karen @ Me, My Camera, Eye.  Thanks for organising the challenge, Karen.

Photo No 1 was taken in Bradford on Avon in front of the library which is the building you can see in the background.  I didn't manage to get the window straight in any of my attemps, but this one is nearly there!

Photo No 2 is my favourite one and probably the best one.  This is one of the many flower displays in Bath and although it isn't particularly well framed there is enough going on in the picture for it not to matter.

Photo No 3 was also taken in Bath, angled upwards to a window box which is why the window appears to be leaning backwards.

26/52: Go on a dog walk

I can't believe I've never done this before, but this week I went on my first dog walk.  I joined Julie and Lauren to walk their dog, Dash, at the Southwick Country Park.  If I'd known it was going to be so relaxing I'd have done it before!

A Bracelet of Days

I came across this poem on one of the blogs I follow. The blog is written by Dierdre Maher who, like me, cares for her husband who has Motor Neurone Disease.  Dierdre came across this poem, written by a Dingle poet, and says that she feels it was written for her.  I completely understand what she means.  It sums up exactly how I feel.

A bracelet of days

I am making a bracelet of days
or bits of days
to take out in the half light
and know those other times were real.

The first stone threaded on is blue:
A dusky drive
through low flat fields,
that held the promise of home.

The second one is the gold
of candlelight in a night-time
chapel where four musicians
played.

The third is clear as water:
Words plucked
from a poet's mouth
to flow into my ear.

I am making a bracelet of days,
moments stolen, frozen,
threaded into a talisman
to scare away those half-light days.
