Thursday

I'm feeling much better today but still don't have the energy for anything too energetic, so have settled on catching up with the shredding. I found another load of admin records from when I was teaching full time which I have no need to keep but which will contain information about individual children so, instead of painstakingly sorting through them, I am shredding the lot! It'll probably take quite a few sessions to complete, as the shredder keeps overheating, but it will clear another large space in one of the cupboards so it'll be good to get it done.

My joyful activity for today will be a visit from a friend. She knows I'm unwell and is bringing round some lunch for us to share.

  1. Although time consuming I always feel a great sense of achievement when I have been shredding unwanted documents no longer needed. I'm sorry you're still poorly and do hope with the help of lunch with your friend that you will be feeling better soon.

    1. It’s my least favourite job but I get what you mean about the sense of achievement when it’s all done.

  2. There's certainly a sense of satisfaction from shredding & now you'll have another sorting task done & more space - win win. I did a little shredding on the weekend but I know there's at least a small mole hill of papers needing shredding just sitting mocking me to get on with it. Our weekend forecast is rain all day everyday so maybe ...

    1. I’ve been keeping on top of my shredding but this mountain of unwanted paperwork came as a bit of a shock as I thought I’d finished clearing out all the teaching related stuff. I’m just focusing on the space I’ll have at the end rather than how much there is to do!

  3. It's no good complaining - I keep saying I'll do it for you! My fave job... I'll even bring my own equipment!! xx
Glad to hear that the recovery is progressing nicely.

    1. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again ... anyone who loves shredding must be crazy!!! Sadly on this occasion you’re too late with your kind/crazy offer. E turned up with lunch for us, saw the pile of paper and the shredder, got overexcited and then took over shedding duties .... she’s coming back on Saturday to do some more 😁😁😁😁

  4. Would it not be easier having a little bonfire and burning it all.

    1. Possibly, but I don’t have anywhere I can safely light a bonfire so it’s got to be shredding.

  5. Glad to read you are feeling a little better, your friend visited with lunch for you to share, and not only did she help with the shredding, she's coming back to do some more! Sounds like a shredding party! :D

    1. I’ll be keeping her supplied with food and coffee while she does the actual shredding. I’m paying her back by visiting her class to be interviewed by the children as part of their next class project.

    2. Now you're just making me jealous! It's most unkind.
