Saturday

It's another wet and chilly day so definitely not the ideal weather for the wedding.

I'm up early to get ready as I'm being collected at 8 o'clock and the four of us will drive to the venue together. This will give us plenty of time to find out where we'll be playing, to get changed, and to warm up before it all kicks off. We're playing in the lull between the end of the ceremony and when the wedding breakfast starts, so providing background music for at least an hour, possibly longer. We're there for the entire event but are booked to 'work' during that part of the day.

Part of me is looking forward to it though I am feeling nervous at the moment, but will be fine once we start playing ... P on piano, E on clarinet, me on flute or clarinet, and K on flute or clarinet. We've decided that this will be our last performance together, so it's sad in a way but we'll obviously keep in touch and will  continue to play together for fun.

  1. Not the weather for weeding, I agree, but the garden in the photo looks lovely!
Good luck with today. Last things are always sad but you have many happy memories and maybe you could get someone to take a few photos of you all this afternoon.

  4. The garden is looking lovely with all that rain, although, it is not ideal weather for a wedding. Hope it all went well and you enjoyed playing at your last public performance with the group. Have a great rest of the day.
