Weekly Reflections

Reasons to be cheerful ...
  • Lauren is back to full health and has returned to work. Her sister arrived safely home from France and her mum safely home from India.
  • The fantastic news that a new baby will be welcomed to the family in August.
  • Friend L has arrived safely home after her holiday in Egypt.
  • Receiving two photos of Baby P (my friend's granddaughter)
  • A surprise gift of a jar of coffee from a neighbour
  • The opportunity to continue singing regularly with the creation of a virtual environment for our weekly choir practices.

I am grateful for ...
  • the kindness of the garage employee when I wanted to check the tyre pressure. I couldn't get the machine to start and he reset it, then checked my tyre pressures for me.
  • offers of support from family, friends and neighbours if needed. A timely and lovely reminder that I'm not completely alone at this awful time.
  • the generosity of individuals and organisations, amateur and professional, allowing free access to their skills and creativity to provide entertainment and education for everyone.

  1. Wonderful news that your friends & family have returned from their travels. Hopefully after their 2 weeks of self isolation, they show NO signs of any illness. All the returning Canadian Snow Birds at the border check have to agree to a 2 week quarantine. I cannot believe how many online activities are being offered and you certainly live in a kind community.

    1. It's a huge relief that everyone has made it home. I hadn't realised just how much it was stressing me and I slept much better last night. They were all checked at the airport and passed that check so were allowed to return to their own homes which makes it easier for them.

The online activities are a huge gift for all of us and will help to alleviate the boredom that is sure to come in the next few weeks of self isolating and social distancing.

I hope all the Canadian Snowbirds can get home.

  2. Lots of wonderful reasons to be cheerful and grateful. I'm glad that everyone has returned home without trouble and the news of a new baby being expected is a joy, isn't it? It's lovely that your neighbors are doing what they can to help other neighbors, too. :)

    1. Yes, despite all the fears of coronavirus and the impact on everyone's life there are still plenty of reasons to be cheerful and grateful.

The new baby is a complete surprise but is loved already and will be treasured. Friends and neighbours are all doing what they can and following govt advice while offering as much support to others as they are able.

So good to be grateful with cheerful news and the solidarity of friends.
That's what makes people happy and makes people believe in humanity.
    Hugs and a good week.
    Good health.

    1. It's so good to see all the offers of help from complete strangers. It gives me faith that the vast majority are trying to do the right thing.

      Take care x
