Weekly Reflections

 Reasons to be cheerful ...

  • chatting with family and friends
  • enjoying a lovely week, filled with special treats, in memory of Ced
  • enjoying cake and coffee with L, my first café socialising since the ease of lockdown started
  • being contacted by a new-to-me cousin and filling a gap in the family tree as a result
  • purchasing the new plants for the garden
  • losing myself in a book, just like I used to
  • reminiscing with my sister
  • watching Les Miserables for the umpteenth time ... and still loving it!
  • experiencing a growing feeling that I have 'turned a corner' (for the better) in maintaining a positive approach to life
  • enjoying Christmas in May as gifts of plants chosen back in December arrive for the garden

I am grateful ...
  • for the support of friends and some freebie car maintenance
  • for central heating as the colder days continue
  • for access to the internet enabling me to plan a series of mini adventures as the country moves out of lockdown

Lifestyle changes
  • exercise (30 minutes minimum every day): achieved
  • weight: 1 lb loss

    1. Things are definitely on the up at the moment. I think the easing of lockdown, even though I'm not going out much, has a lot to do with it.

  2. Glad you have had such good reasons for being cheerful and grateful this week. I couldn't sleep at all, last night, so I gave up trying at 6:30 a.m., took my medication, had a cup of tea, and put a load of laundry to wash (Dancer messed up on one of the bath mats). And guess what? It has drizzled a bit, this morning! Unbelievable!

    1. Thanks Bless. Well at least you had some drizzle even if not a heavy downpour. It's good to hear you were able to do a load of washing but please don't overdo things.

  3. New plants for the garden sounds exciting. I've had my first post-vaccine patio lunch at a restaurant, and it was such a treat!

    1. M should be here on Friday and I will do another garden update afterwards. It is exciting!

It feels so good to be eating out again. I'm glad to hear that you're able to do that as well. (not sure which part of the USA you live in!)
