Blogtoberfest 2014 Day 6: Summertime Photo Scavenger Hunt - the Final Selection
The 2014 summertime photo scavenger hunt has ended and we have to wait a whole year for the next one! Many thanks to Rinda for organising this.
Here's my final selection of photos - some have been posted before but a few are new. I've managed to complete the list and as usual, it's been tremendous fun. It will take months for me to stop looking for birds on a wire and lamp posts!
Here's my final selection of photos - some have been posted before but a few are new. I've managed to complete the list and as usual, it's been tremendous fun. It will take months for me to stop looking for birds on a wire and lamp posts!
1. A sign welcoming people to your home town (or a nearby town). These flower beds are on every approach road to the town.
2. A garden gnome. Luckily my friend had just created a gnome garden so I had plenty of choice for this one.
3. Birds on a wire. This was the most difficult one to get as there are no overhead wires where I live. This was photographed outside of one of my schools.
4. A group of tourists. Taken outside the Assembly Rooms in Bath. The man looks like he's totally fed up!
5. A rack of post cards. Taken in Bath.
6. An urban street scene. Taken in Lacock, this is the area where they filmed some of the Godric's Hollow scenes in the final Harry Potter films.
7. A rural landscape. Looking across the fields at Alton Barnes in Wiltshire.
8. A tattoo on a person. This is a friend of a friend who kindly posed for me.
9. A bakery. Taken in Lacock.
10. A photo bomb. The person dressed in red walked in front of me just as I pressed the shutter but I genuinely thought he/she was out of the shot.
12. A mascot. Taken in Bath - that's Bath Abbey caught in the reflection.
13. A sunrise. I didn't actually manage to see the sun but as this was taken in the middle of the night early in the morning from my front door and, as I was only wearing my dressing gown I wasn't prepared to wander around looking for a better view!
14. A parade. Taken at Devizes parade which was part of the town's International Street Festival.
15. A juggler. I was beginning to think I would never find a juggler but thankfully saw this one at the Devizes parade.
16. A sign in a language other than English. We have a large Polish population in Trowbridge. This sign is on the window of one of the Polish shops.
17. A lamp post. I seem to be obsessed with photographing lamp posts now! This one is in Trowbridge town centre.
18. A water fall. Pulteney Weir in Bath.
19. A public garden. The Abbey Gardens in Bath.
20. A bus (not a car, truck, lorry, camper or RV) with a picture painted on its sides. I didn't think I would get this one but I saw this picture in Bath.
21. A photograph of you with something representing the season. It's summer here, so for me that also means the awards presentation at the band - a big part of our year. Check the reflections to see me!
Does anyone know if there is a winter scavenger hunt?

Hi Eileen, great to see the drummers, they were always my favourite part of the Devizes Carnival procession. Well done for completing the whole list, I missed three! Perhaps if Rinda doesn't want to do a winter hunt, we could do one between us (you and me), what do you think?
ReplyDeleteGreat idea. You come up with 10 for the list and I'll come up with the other 10. Shall we meet up for lunch over half term to discuss?
Deletewill email you x x
DeleteI was going to suggest that too, if anyone wants to play along! I saw the town sign and the birds on the wire and thought, I CAN DO THAT! Then as I went down the list I figured I was out of luck! No busses around here or parades this time of year. So, if you can't find one you have to draw one?? Lol.
ReplyDeleteThis might be one of the best final selections I've seen! Especially like the birds on wire, urban street and tat (but I said that before). Top banana.
