Photo Pairs
I had to dodge the rain showers to get today's photos, but I suppose it serves me right for leaving it to the last minute! Here's ...
IN THE WATER & OUT OF THE WATER
These were taken just round the corner from home, from the towpath on the opposite side of the canal from the boatyard.
Thanks to Helena for creating this wonderful weekly link up.
What a unique boat. What does it do exactly?
ReplyDeleteThey are narrowboats, made to fit the narrow UK canals and locks. Originally working boats for haulage, they are now mostly used for recreation. Some people live on them.
DeleteThat is so cool!!! Glad you dodge the rain drops to get the pictures!

They look so clean! My old boss lived on a narrowboat for a time! I have been following "Great Canal Journeys" on Ch4 and thinking how relaxing the lifestyle seems. (Did you run into Tim and Pru on the Kennet and Avon?!) Also hadn't realised how many other countries had canals - though I managed to miss the Sweden episode.
ReplyDeleteThe boats themselves are quite festive looking. You timed this Pair perfectly.
ReplyDeleteGreat capture, something I haven't seen before.
ReplyDeletesuper cool shots! Can't quite imagine living on one though!!!
ReplyDeleteThat was well timed. I hope there is nobody in it.
ReplyDeleteHow lucky to be there at just the right time! It's really a beautiful boat.
ReplyDeleteWow: that looks like quite the operation
ReplyDeleteglad you braved the wet so we could see the removal in action
ReplyDeleteA brilliant pair Eileen. I have had a few holidays on narrow boats, they were such fun.
ReplyDeleteNice choice!! I love canals and their history, so this was good to see.
