having a peaceful day at home, intentionally relaxing and doing very little

reviewing the choices I made yesterday when I was looking for furniture online; still liking my choices, which is a good sign
*
arranging for another company to quote to replace the kitchen; the initial quote came in at £8200 (not including labour costs), which is ridiculously expensive for such a small room
*
dreaming about holidays: where to go?; activity holiday or relaxing on the beach?; in a group or on my own?; this country or abroad? - so many decisions!
*
reading on a kindle app on the iPad, and not really enjoying the experience - give me a proper book every time
*
looking forward to tonight - going out for a meal and quiz with friends
I find that I do like reading on the tablet; but if I want to go back and re-read something, it is sometimes hard to find that on the tablet; easier with a bound book. Sounds like a fun evening planned :)

ReplyDeleteKitchens & bathrooms are expensive to re-do because they involve water & electricity- well at least that is what we have been told. I hope that you enjoyed your afternoon, it's just gone 1:45pm & there is a cup of tea & a book waiting for me to enjoy in the sunshine. Ah vacation dreams ...

ReplyDeleteI enjoyed this post Eileen. £8k is a lot for a small kitchen. We got ours from Ikea and needed doors replacing after 9 years which was done without any problem or questioning. They also replaced the porcelain sink as the glaze had crazing.
ReplyDeleteSo many holiday choices! A friend recently went on her own to India as part of a group interested in sewing. She had an amazing experience. I enjoy an experience when I go away, whether exploring somewhere or learning something new. I look forward to finding out what you choose.
