Tuesday
I had some good news yesterday ... a text from G, my hairdresser, offering an appointment for next Monday. I can't wait! My last haircut was at the end of November (the January one had to be cancelled when the country went into lockdown) so my hair is looking truly awful. I will feel much more human after 2pm on the 12th!
I am making a start on the spring cleaning today. I was planning to start on the upstairs rooms but have changed my mind, because I can, and will clean all the Venetian blinds and insides of windows throughout the house first. I detest the job of cleaning the blinds so it's best to tackle them while the enthusiasm levels are still high!
In the garden, the rest of the tulips are opening. The pink one in the top photo is the chosen colour but the one in the second photo is supposed to be lilac, not striped ... I'm not having much luck with actually producing the colour stated on the packaging, but it does look pretty. It was very windy when I took the photos, hence the blurry focus.
The pink tulip looks beautiful! So does the striped one, even if it was supposed to have been lilac!
ReplyDeleteI love tulips but do prefer the single coloured ones to the striped ones. I'm just a fusspot!
DeleteGood luck with the spring cleaning! I know what you mean about how crowded it is during these school holidays. We have decided there are certain places that are just not worth going to at the moment. The tulips are beautiful, I love the colours.
ReplyDeleteI'm quite happy to wait until I've had my second jab and even then, to stick to the quieter times and places. It's not worth the risk.
DeleteMe too, Eileen. Our appointments must be at pretty much the same time. My fringe is really annoying me now and it's only the thought of Sharon's wrath that is stopping me from 'trimming' it.
ReplyDeleteI have no luck with tulips but Beth and I have an idea for the allotment that I will share in my blog at some point.
They both look absolutely gorgeous.
xx
My second jab is on May 6th. If I had straight hair I'd have cut it myself by now but I can't cope with all the layers that my naturally curly hair needs to look presentable!
DeleteThe tulips in the pots are doing better than the ones that were planted in the flower beds, so that's the way forward for next year. I'm interested to see what you have planned.
Your tulips are beautiful even though one was not the colour expected. Good news on your hair appointment, I can't imagine how depressed I would have felt going so long without a haircut but you know the reason I still don't need one.
ReplyDeleteMine is just near the stage where it will start curling in ringlets so it has to be cut ... the Shirley Temple cute look doesn't do anything for me! Your hair is looking lovely now it's growing back.
DeleteGlad that Boris delivered the nation more good news, so that it includes hairdresser being open - yeah. Your tulips are very pretty. I tried, once, to create a Sissinghurst tribute garden of all whites. Mis-labelling caused me so much frustrated, that it the end I gave up. Yes, blinds do require a resolve for cleaning, I also find that with the shutters, nice to look at, useful but such a pain to clean.
ReplyDeleteG is a mobile hairdresser so will come to me on Monday, which is the first day that she's allowed to resume work under the UK roadmap for easing lockdown.
DeleteI didn't realise that mis-labelling was such a thing but everyone I've spoken to seems to have experience of it.
I'm fed up of cleaning the blinds already! Why did I choose blinds for every window?
Stunning floral photos! I have a haircut today too. I only had one other in the last year, and have been trimming my bangs myself. She can take 3 - 4 inches off the bottom. I am surprised at how fast it has grown. Unfortunately, I couldn't get booked for a color with my cut, so I may have to do that part at home. Just as well, I don't like sitting there for an hour in my mask, when I can touch up at home mask free.
ReplyDeleteYou are right about tackling the part of the cleaning chores you like the least first, makes the rest seem so much easier. Our spring cleaning has been an on-again, off-again thing, but yesterday hubby did get the attic space nearly emptied so that we can have extra insulation added in there. I helped a little, as I had forgotten what I had stored in there.
At least I don't have to bother with colouring - I decided years ago to go grey naturally so I've save a fortune over the years!
DeleteClearing the attic space sounds like a massive task. I don't store anything in the attic so at least that's one thing that'll never be on my list! Hope you get it finished soon.
My husband has been on vacation, and although we aren't going anywhere or doing anything I'm behind on everything including blog visits. You've been busy. I've missed a lot.
ReplyDeleteMy husband got his first haircut the other day and you'd think he'd won a prize he was so happy lol Your tulips are gorgeous!
I understand exactly how he felt. I was over the moon to get my haircut 😊
