165/365: peony

Of course when I was listing everything I want to achieve this week I'd completely forgotten that the tennis tournament at Queen's Club is on TV this week so all bets are off about getting much done! I did do a bit more in the kitchen during the morning but hadn't started early enough to do much before I realised about the tennis and plonked myself in front of the TV at 1 o'clock to enjoy the afternoon's play.

I won't be able to watch much today as I've arranged to meet J for coffee and I really don't want to cancel that. While I'm in town I will pick up the bits and pieces I need, and also some treats to make the time spent watching the tennis even more enjoyable!

  1. Isn't it lovely to be so flexible. After living my life to a strict timetable for so long, I'm truly relishing the freedom and so are you, by the looks of it. Have a lovely day. xx

    1. I am loving the freedom to pick and choose. The strict timetable of school and how that impacted on my 'free' time is very definitely a thing of the past. Hope you have a lovely day too xx

  2. Good for you, enjoy the tennis as household jobs can be done any another time. Have a good afternoon out today too.

    1. Yes, definitely! The peony is beautiful, one of the bunch I bought as a treat. Sadly I don't have room for peonies in the garden.

  5. Beautiful peony!
I'd prefer watching tennis on TV to kitchen cleaning any day! You have your priorities right! Enjoy your coffee with J and hope you are able to pick up all the treats you want to make tennis watching even more enjoyable! :D

    1. The peony is such a beautiful colour. I usually buy the very pale pink ones but fancied this one as a change this year.

I've been reassessing my priorities so am very pleased to hear that you think I'm on the right track 😂😂

I have treats, don't worry. Mostly fruit but some dark chocolate may have jumped into my trolley as well.

  6. Haha, I too forgot about the tennis (well, I would never forget; I knew it was coming and when, I just then proceeded to overlook it). iPlayer is going to be very busy for the next while! Some marvellous matches already - I think I approve of the new Queens format! Most of my peonies have been all leaf and very little bloom this year, but my newest, pale pink, one has obliged with 12 flowers! We have heavy rain forecast for Saturday so if that doesn't change I shall cut them before they can be destroyed and enjoy them indoors.

    1. Admit it ... you forgot!! I'm enjoying Queens this year ... a very pleasant way to pass the time!

I wish I had room to grow some peonies but don't, so I'm enjoying my peonies courtesy of Tesco cut flower department! How many different peony bushes do you have?

  7. I love watching tennis but usually ration myself to Wimbledon. It's good to have something seasonal to look forward to.

    1. I haven't taken a lot of notice of the tennis since I lost my partner. It always used to be a 'must see' event and I can remember hurrying home from school to watch it. This year my interest is back with bells on and I can't get enough of it!
