Weekly Reflections
310/365: gladioli |
Reasons to be cheerful ...
- phoning, texting and emailing with family and friends
- adding more dates to my diary
- booking a ticket and an overnight hotel stay for a theatre trip in March 2023
- taking delivery of my new Instant Pot and cooking up a couple of recipes in it
- chatting with M as she tidied the garden and sounding out ideas for next year' display
- agreeing to buy some more bulbs and a climbing rose ready for the next time M is here
- making lists of the things I need to replace or want to buy - completing both categories will enhance my life
- receiving an email from a member of the U3A, asking how I got on at the hospital ... I've only met her twice and was touched that she remembered and cared enough to ask
- ticking off quite a few long outstanding tasks
- finishing the inventory of the freezers ... now to keep it up to date!
- receiving my first Christmas meal invitation ... mid December with the U3A
I am grateful ...
- for the gift of another bag of books from my sister
- for all the people on YouTube who generously share their Instant Pot recipes and tips
- for a relaxing week ... I hadn't really appreciated how stressed I was about the hospital appointment
Lifestyle changes
- daily walk: Achieved 4 out of 7, but mostly indoor walks
- weekly personal training session: Cancelled as I was feeling unwell
- twice a week - 2 x 10 reps of each of three exercises: Achieved
It sounds like you had another wonderful week with plenty to be cheerful about and grateful for. I love reading these weekly reflections posts. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Bless, all things considered it has been a good week for me. I'm glad you like reading these posts every Sunday. xx
DeleteI too love reading your reflection posts. It encourages me to reflect on the many positives in my life for which I am grateful. It is too easy to allow negative responses to dominate our thoughts. It takes effort to look at the positives but the result is much more rewarding.
ReplyDeleteThanks Carole, I'm glad you like reading these posts. That's exactly the reason I started writing these posts as it is so easy to only think of the negative things. Writing this post every week helps me turn my thinking round and looks for the positives. xx
DeleteWhat a fantastic week. xx
ReplyDeleteThanks Joy. It has been a good week xx
DeleteLovely list of positive things. Hope the next week is as good!
ReplyDeleteThanks Sharon, the week is going well so far!
DeleteWhat a nice round-up of the week. It sounds like the Instant Pot was an instant success at your house. I have yet to use mine, it's been in the cabinet for a year, and in the closet in its unopened box for longer than that. Obviously in my case its purchase was the Impulse Pot.
ReplyDeleteThanks Susanne. "Impulse Pot" made me laugh out loud. I think a lot of people have done that but I'm really enjoying cooking with it and it will make batch cooking so much easier in the future. Go on, be brave and try yours out .... YouTube has lots of easy to follow videos.
