A Relaxing Day
it must be rough at the coast as the seagulls have moved inland again ... or maybe it just wanted something to read (taken in the library car park) |
Yesterday was a much more relaxed day. I posted the two parcels and returned a library book and then spent the rest of the day at home, splitting my time between blogging, reading and piano practice. I still haven't really 'got' the piece and in places it is obvious that there is an issue but I decided that at this stage of working with the new teacher it was better that he is made aware of what I can realistically achieve in a week's practice. I have my first proper lesson with him at 1pm today, which I'm looking forward to and am anxious about all at the same time.
H may call round later this afternoon. She's in the process of moving back to her own home in Westbury now that her sister has moved out and her mother has moved to a care home. It'll be easier for her to visit her mum if she relocates back to this area but I think there is a lot of work to do to get her home back to how she wants it. She's said she'll be round when/if she needs a break and a mug of strong coffee! I don't know when she plans to actually make the move but it'll be good to be able to see her more often in the future.
I don't think there is anything I want to watch on TV tonight so, if H doesn't stay, I will watch a couple of films via Amazon Prime, cook myself some jambalaya (from a Simply Cook kit) and have a cosy evening at home.
Maybe the seagull wanted a car ride!
ReplyDeleteI hope your piano lesson goes well and you have a nice visit with H if she decides to visit. Enjoy your day!
He flew away when I tried to get closer for a better photo.
DeleteThe piano lesson was excellent and I think I'll do well with his teaching method. H can't make it now but we have chatted on the phone and hopefully will see her in a couple of weeks time. xx
On a serious note seagulls are looking for food as fish stocks are so depleted with over-fishing and as I live on the coast I see this all the time and worse. I hope your piano lesson goes well today and your new teacher can help you where you are struggling. I hope H can visit you for a cuppa. Enjoy your day xx
ReplyDeleteI hadn't considered the impact on the gulls. The piano lesson went well and I managed to play everything I'd been set ... he was able to point out where I am correcting that mistake with the chord though! He is very good at giving lots of useful tips and detailing different ways to practice specific things. I'm really happy to have found him. Unfortunately H can't make it today so I'll hopefully see her in a couple of weeks time. xx
DeleteSounds like a lovely day. Hope you enjoy your weekend!
ReplyDeleteThanks Sharon. Hope you have a good weekend too xx
