Friday 6th January

It's done! Now to find someone to pass it on to.

This week is racing by isn't it? I had a quiet day yesterday just finishing off the jigsaw and doing a few little bit of admin, so it felt productive without too much effort on my part. Today is slightly different though as I'll be working out in the garage.

The new door is scheduled to be installed on Monday so I need to move everything towards the back of the garage to leave a clear space for them to work in. They have asked for 3 metres which is over half the length of the garage and when I queried that, I was told that I just need to clear as much as I can ... the 3 metres is just a rough requirement they put on all their paperwork! I will move the majority today and S will move the two heavy items, which of course are right by the door so definitely have to be moved, some time over the weekend. There's two or three bags for the recycling centre in there but they will have to wait till the weekend or early next week as I think the yard is closed today.

There isn't that much to do so I should be finished fairly early but I want to see the nutrition class at 11 am so will take a break then. It's part way through a mini course focusing on nutrition for healthy digestion and I've already missed one week so need to catch up.

I'm postponing my walk and workout until this afternoon as the priority for today has to be the garage. It's supposed to be dry and sunny until about 4 pm so I should have plenty of time to fit in a walk afterwards. I'll drive down to the town park as I want to try to get some photos of squirrels and then I can also pick up the rest of the shopping I didn't do on Wednesday to save me doing it over the weekend. I may take a couple of boxes of donations to the charity shop with me as well.

There will also have to be some frantic last minute piano practice ... a lot of it! ... as it's my first lesson with the new teacher tomorrow!

  1. That sounds like an extremely busy day, one way and another, and very exciting about the piano lessons. Is it a face to face meeting?

    1. Yes it is a face to face lesson. I decided it was best to start anew and also take the opportunity to get away from Zoom lessons.

I've had a busy morning but it's all done now and I can spend as much time as I want playing the piano this afternoon. xx

  3. That is quite a large & colourful puzzle, well done getting it completed. If you cannot find too many squirrels at the park, I'll box up several of ours - I've got all three; native reds & blacks & the invader grey. A healthy digestive tract is key to so many other aspects of health & well being, so I'll be interested what tips you pick up. Good luck tomorrow with the new piano teacher.

    1. It was only 500 pieces so it didn't take too long to do. I abandoned the photos as there wasn't a squirrel in sight. Usually there are lots of them but no luck today.

I missed the nutrition session in the end as I was caught up trying to sort out the electrics in the garage. I do know that the biggest and best thing we can do to help our bodies is to give up all added sugars, which I've managed to do ... except for Christmas of course. I need to get firmly back to my usual healthy diet again! xx

    1. Sadly, the squirrels didn't come out to play so I'll try again another day.

Thanks Eileen. I'm feeling a little anxious about it but I think that's because I really want it to work. xx

  5. Good luck with the garage door.

I love squirrels. There are lots that come into the garden to eat the bird seed. Some of them are regulars and they seem to have such distinctive personalities. They really make me laugh!

The puzzle looks amazing. Jane had lots of them, mostly unopened, but there were several that she had done that were framed. I passed the unopened ones onto my walking friend as she loves doing them.

    Have a great weekend!

    1. The garage is ready now (S moved the last things this afternoon) so hopefully it will all go smoothly on Monday morning.

I will try again for the squirrels when the weather improves. They are fun to watch and I'm hoping to get some semi decent photos of them.

I really enjoyed this particular puzzle. It's one J passed on to me and was a good quality one so the pieces connected together properly. Don't you like doing jigsaws? xx

    1. It was passed on from a friend and I really enjoyed doing it even though it's not the sort of puzzle I'd normally choose.

Yes, I did get a good report from the teacher and we have now set up regular lessons. xx
