Tuesday
a misty morning |
Today starts with a few tasks this morning. I have a couple of emails to deal with and a bit of filing to do and then I'm hoping to have a look at my finances to see if I can afford to have a cleaner. If it looks promising I'll contact some of the local cleaning companies to arrange for them to quote.
I'm meeting J for lunch. We're going to the Farmhouse Inn again and I'm determined to be good and only have a main meal ... no starter or dessert for me today! That'll probably take up most of the afternoon as we tend to lose track of the time once we start chatting, but if we do finish early I'll pick up the bits of shopping I need on the way home.
I don't think there's anything I want to watch on TV tonight so I'll make a start on preparing for Thursday's Zoom meeting with my cousins. The meeting is supposed to be an opportunity to share information on our family tree, specifically my paternal grandfather/their paternal great-grandfather, but I think it's likely we'll spend most of the time just chatting and getting to know each other ... I'm really looking forward to getting to know them after all this time.
Sounds like a good day yesterday & another good one planned for today. Hopefully nothing to worry about for L&P & that you all got the dates mixed with other activities :)
ReplyDeleteL&P have been in touch to say they are travelling in their motorhome and may call in when they are in this area. I think we all got mixed up about the Zoom meeting but as long as they are okay, I don't mind. xx
DeleteThat is so cool that you are working on your family tree with cousins. Have you known these cousins all your life or are there some you have never even met before?
ReplyDeleteI know one of them from childhood but have never met the other two so we'll have lots of catching up to do.xx
DeleteI hope you have a lovely meal with J today and your aches have worn off. Are these cousins you have connected with from your DNA test results? The meeting with them sounds very exciting and I hope you discover more about your paternal grandfather.
ReplyDeleteThe aches have gone and the meal was great, thanks.
DeleteI know one of them, K, as we met as children but I didn't know she had a younger sister, G, from her mum's second marriage. D is K's son and I knew through Ancestry that she had children but have never met him. We have a group on What'sApp and have been texting for about a year but this will be the first time we've 'seen' each other. We're hoping our joint efforts will break through this brick wall! xx
Lunch sounds really fun. Hope you had an enjoyable time.
ReplyDeleteWe had a great time thanks Sharon xx
DeleteI do hope it is a viable thing for you - I did consider stopping my cleaners when I retired but I am so glad I didn't. It's a real blessing and knowing that once a week my home is cleaned top to bottom takes a lot of pressure off me.
ReplyDeleteHoping the aches have subsided.
xx
It all depends on how much prices have increased since I last had a cleaner but it looks likely. It made a big difference to me before and, like you say, is lovely to know that the house will be cleaned regularly.
DeleteThe aches eased off during the day, so all's good thanks. xx
Sorry, I got a bit behind with my blog reading! Sounds like you had a fun day on Monday, even if the personal training was a bit challenging and the Zoom meeting didn't happen.
ReplyDeleteI hope you had a lovely lunch with J
