The Main Bedroom
Stage 1 of the main bedroom renovation is complete. Installation took two and a half days, all managed by one man working alone. I'd thought it would be a two man job as those wardrobes are heavy, but he was obviously used to it and did a great job.
The colour in the photos isn't accurate ... it does all match, honestly. The chest of drawers is the closest to the true colour.
I'm going to choose the carpet tomorrow. The store has a 50% off sale, so it's good timing as that may save me enough money to order some curtains as well. The electrician will be back on November 24th to finish off the TV connections and once he is finished, it'll just be the decorating to do. I doubt that it'll be finished this side of Christmas though ... I think we all need a break from the constant mess and noise, and December is always a busy month.
Oh, and I need to buy a new bed as well, so hopefully I'll pick up a bargain in the January sales!
You are going to have a lovely bedroom with lots of storage!
ReplyDeleteThanks Bless. There isn't much storage in the bungalow so I added extra wardrobes to have the space to store extra linen, quilts, Christmas decs, etc. It'll make a big difference. xx
DeleteWhen we moved here 16 years ago we had everything done at once, get all the mess sorted before you settle in, bet you can't wait for the workmen to finish and have your home again.
ReplyDeleteYou're right! I need a break from all the mess and noise. The new windows will be fitted next month and then the decorating will be done in January next year. My plan is the same as yours, i.e. get everything done as soon as possible so I can start living the life I want and enjoy my new home. xx

ReplyDeleteThanks Carole. We're planning a break over December and then the rest of the decorating in January. The overall plan is to get everything in place by March 16th, i.e. a year after I moved here. xx
