The Month So Far ....

... has been a complete washout for me. Poor health being the main reason, compounded by the need to change my BP medication in preparation for a blood test on the 6th July to test whether/how my adrenal gland is functioning. I have lots of the notified side effects with the new tablet, not serious, but all impacting on daily life where I am already struggling from other unrelated health issues. The worst thing has been the dizziness, and also the need to stay very close to a toilet! I was just starting to improve and then the heatwave hit us ... 41°C on the worst day. Thankfully, the worst of the high temperatures are over for now and we are no longer under a red or amber weather alert. Today's high in this area should be 27°C, so it'll be much more comfortable.

I haven't been able to do much this month so far. With Niall's and BiL's help (they did all the lifting, I supervised!) the living room has been cleared as much as possible, ready for the plasterer to start work on Monday. The potential lodger I mentioned before was a no show, but that has really worked out for the best as the heavy wooden living room furniture is now being stored in what will eventually become the lodger's bedroom. I have no idea where it would have all gone if I didn't have that room free! I've now decided to take the pressure off and wait until the remainder of the decorating etc. is finished before looking for a lodger.

I have had the landscaper return to discuss the issues with the garden beds, as in there is no topsoil but lots of stones. The lawn and graveled areas are going and there will be a different layout for the rest of it. I'm waiting for a date for the work to start, hopefully sooner rather than later as I'd like to get some perennials in the ground this year if at all possible. I'll try to do a garden post about the changes later this week.

    1. Thanks Sharon. The BP issue will sort itself out soon - as soon as I've had the blood test I can change back to my usual medication and that controls my BP properly with no nasty side effects. xx

  2. I, too, am sorry to hear that your health issues continue to dominate your life, Eileen. I, too, hope the blood pressure issues get resolved. I dealt with some blood pressure issues of my own at the beginning of the year and I am still having to check my pressure on a daily basis and adjust my medications accordingly. Hope all your tests go well and you can start recovering.

    1. Thanks Bless. The BP will sort itself out when I change back to my usual medication as soon as the blood test is over and done with, so that'll be a step in the right direction. xx

  3. Just seeing that mass of red and orange on the forecasts make us feel hotter, doesn't it?
I'm hoping the health relates stuff improves soon - this heat last week really couldn't have helped at all. Side effects are such a nuisance too.
    Sending love.
    xx

    1. Thanks Joy. The heatwave didn't help at all but it's cooled down for now and we a forecast to have some rain this week, so I'm happy and my plants will be happy! I only have another week to go on the new tablet and then I can change back to my usual BP meds so the side effects I'm experiencing will hopefully disappear. Fingers crossed xx
