Decisions, Decisions!

I've made a start on sorting through the books today. I  know I haven't found all of them yet, but thought that I may as well make a start on the ones I have found as it's obvious that I have way too many to keep. I've decided that I will only keep enough books to fill the oak bookcase in the living room. This will be mainly novels, but also reference books to do with genealogy, health, and cooking.

Sorting through the paperback novels has turned out to be a headache so far. Deciding which ones to keep is taking much longer than I expected as I've already found enough to fill three bookcases, so there is a lot of whittling down to do. I'll sell the unwanted books if I can find the name of the website that buys second-hand books. I don't have too many reference books so it's likely I'll keep all of them.

It's all the music books that are the biggest problem. I will definitely keep all the piano music books, but there are also a few  quite a lot  a huge stack of books for the flute, clarinet, and brass instruments, and keeping any of those is tied up with the need to make a decision on which instruments I am going to keep. I was sure that it was time to sell all my brass and woodwind instruments, but last night I read about another local brass band which is inviting players to join them and I am tempted to go along and see how I get on. I miss playing in a band but I honestly don't know how I will manage now, with all my mobility and other health issues. The actual playing shouldn't be a problem, although I will need to do a serious amount of practice if I do follow this up, but I will be reliant on Niall to take me to and from practices and will also need lifts to other band commitments until I get approval to drive again, which could still take months. I need to sit and ponder all of these issues before I rush in and end up regretting the decisions.
