A Frosty Morning

 

The windows, doors and heating were completed yesterday, just in time as it turns out as it is bitterly cold outside with the first real frost of the year. Meanwhile, I'm as warm as can be, and feeling quite smug, as I look outside! 

The landscapers won't be coming today... I think yesterday just about finished them off! But with temperatures below zero, they can't make a start on laying the patio yet. The retaining wall, and all the fencing is finished, with just the gate at the bottom of the steps leading to the stream to be made and fixed in position. I'm really pleased with how it's all looking. 

The electrician will be here on Monday to finish off, and there is still skirting and trim to be fixed in the kitchen but that has to wait until I arrange for the flooring to be laid, which won't be until January now. My home will then be free of workmen (and all the noise and dust they create!) until the new year, when all that's left to do is flooring and decorating, which I'll tackle room by room. My aim is to have it all finished by March 17th, i.e. one year since I moved here.
