Weekly Reflections

Ozzy is back in the garden. The magpies weren't sure of him at first and kept their distance but they've got past that stage and now stand next to him. |
Reasons to be cheerful ...
- texting, emailing and chatting with family and friends
- settling into my new home ... loving it!
- meeting some of my new neighbours
- getting started on the improvement work by having the ceilings boarded (done) and skimmed (next weekend)
- choosing my new kitchen with the help of IKEA's free design service
- enjoying a day out with Niall; a carvery meal in The George, followed by a visit to the church at Sandy Lane
- nearly completing all the change of address notifications - so relieved to have that almost done and out of the way!
- buying a cheap second hand fridge on Facebook Market Place for £35 - my original plan was to manage with cool boxes until the kitchen refit was completed, but it wasn't working out so I bought the fridge and will sell it once the kitchen is done
- adding more dates to my diary
- enjoying visits from family and friends to see my new home
- feeling better emotionally now that the move has happened, and very quickly realising that this move was exactly the right thing for me to do
- binge watching 'House' on Prime Video with Niall
- appreciating another donation of books from my sister
- enjoying a trip to the cinema to watch 'Black Bag' - not quite what we were expecting, but we both liked it!
- loving time spent sitting in the conservatory, watching and listening to all the birds
I am grateful ...
- for Niall's help - I couldn't manage without him
- for sunny days and the warmer weather
- for online shopping and delivery - this is increasingly important now that I am less mobile and it helps me to retain a reasonable level of independence
What a wonderfully happy review of the past week. I felt happy just reading through and I'm so glad things have all worked together now. xx
ReplyDeleteSounds like a lovely week with lots to be cheerful about and grateful for. I'm so glad that this move has worked out so well for you.
ReplyDeleteA lovely, positive week and your gratitude is evident. I wish you another good week , Eileen. All the best to you, Carole R.
ReplyDeleteLovely weekly reflections, lots to be grateful for!
ReplyDeleteHi, I hope you don't mind, but I always feel compelled to give housewarming gifts to people I value. I didn't feel that I could send you anything, especially after all the decluttering, so I dropped off some stuff for the food bank. I put in tea, coffee and squash in the Aldi collection and when I next manage to get to Tesco I'll put in sweeteners and dried milk. It's great to delete this, but I wanted to let you know that I think it's amazing that you have finally got into the new house and that I hope that you will be happy there.
