catkins in the garden

It's been a frustrating morning so I've stopped for a break and some lunch.  I want to apply for a couple of home improvement grants but I can't find all the documents I need to complete the application forms. They're definitely here, but the question is where? I haven't unpacked the majority of the boxes and, until the plasterers started work on the ceilings, I knew roughly where the unopened boxes containing important papers were. However, the plasterers moved everything around to make room to work in and now I can't find anything. I've spent the morning opening and then resealing boxes, but so far I've had no luck. I'll carry on searching once Niall gets back - I'm worn out from lifting and restacking all the boxes, so I'd appreciate his help. If I don't find the documents today, I'll request copies from the originators.

I also want to tweak the IKEA kitchen design I had done and get that sent back for review today. My original thought was that I would section off part of the bathroom to make a small utility room for the washing machine and tumble dryer, but I've changed my mind. Having measured it out, I think it makes the remainder of the bathroom too small, so I now need to fit those two appliances into the kitchen and, while I have the opportunity, I'd like to have the kitchen sink turned around so the draining board is on the left. I don't think these changes will impact on the design too much ... fingers crossed!

Now I've stopped, I don't want to start again! I've been typing this in the conservatory, listening to the birdsong, and watching two magpies play on my lawn. It's lovely here, I'm so glad I moved.

    1. I have loads of ideas for the bungalow but whether I can afford to do everything is another matter. I'm concentrating on the essentials to start with and then we'll see. If I'm eligible for the grants it will make a huge different to the financial side of things. xx
