February 2026 Goals
Home: I still need to get more quotes. the ones I've received so far for the decorating are too expensive to even consider, so I need to find an alternative way to achieve the end results I'm wanting. I also have the added problem with a leak that's appeared in the living room, next to the chimney breast, so it's coming through the external wall. It's not to big but needs to be dealt with as soon as possible.
Garden: I've been looking at various ideas for planting but still have to discuss them with gardener M. I'm definitely having cosmos, fuchsia, roses, gaura, and salvia, but need more ideas. I'll be doing a garden post later in the month.
Music: The piano now feels like it really belongs in my home. I've been playing when I can and so have a couple of visitors. Niall plays, and sometimes sings, and we've tried a couple of duets. I'm really happy to how this area of my life is progressing. We are considering joining a choir, but it's finding one that's on the right day for us and especially one where we sing from the sheet music.
Photography: My DSLR didn't make it out of the cupboard but I did take some phone photos this month. It's not the progress I wanted, but the weather wasn't cooperating on the days I felt well enough, so I'm not beating myself up about it. It is what it is, that's life at the moment, and I'll try again this month.
Swimming: As expected, we didn't get to the swimming pool in January and to be honest, I don't see us getting there this month either. It's too cold for me to want to go ... even though the pool is heated, it still the coming out in the cold afterwards!
Reading: Well, I managed my target of three books read in the month ... two fiction and one non-fiction. I'm setting the same target for this month ... a minimum of three books to be read in February.
Healthy lifestyle: It hasn't been a good month! I've been ill and in bed for half the month and on some of the days I was well enough to be up, I wasn't functioning at 100%. Hopefully February will be better.
I should be getting the results of all the tests on my adrenal gland function this month. I'm half hoping they will have identified an issue that can be easily corrected by medication and that it will be a start to making me feel better. On the other hand, and on more positive days, I know I shouldn't be wishing for anything to be wrong, and that's really the result I want. So, fingers crossed!
Socialising: Despite all the days spend in bed or feeling under par, I have done well on the aspect of life. I achieved all the activities I listed in my January post, and enjoyed them all. There's not as much on in February, here's the list so far ...

- Feb 3rd: Odeon Silver Cinema with Niall
- 10th Feb: Odeon Silver Cinema with friend L
- Feb 16th: u3a Canasta group
