6/52: Go to a Book Signing

I included 'going to a book signing' on my list of things to do but had no idea how I was going to achieve this one. Which only goes to show how stupid I am!  A quick search of the internet revealed that a well known chain of bookstores (Waterstones, in case you can't guess) regularly has book signings in their stores and they advertise these events online.

I've been checking the future events since the start of the year and was gobsmacked to see a signing by someone I've known for years - I didn't even know he was a published author.  And the icing on the cake was that it was to be held in the Bath shop which is only 12 miles aways from here.

So today I toddled off to Bath to meet Joffre White, buy the books (he's written two!) and get them signed.  He's a children's author and his series (there will eventually be four books) has developed from the bedtime stories he used to tell his son, Chris. Chris was also there today, apparantly quite a rare event, so I got him to sign the books as well.

  1. This sounds like a great idea - ticking things off as you do them on your list.
You got two signed books into the bargain.
    Hope you are well!!!

  2. Hello Eileen, What a great little story and my sons have read the first of these books must go and get the second for them.
Thank you for leaving a comment for me. I'm rather surprised that anyone would still read my blog as I'm not consistant when life is good never mind when life is as bad as it has been.
There are so many people out there struggling with mental health problems has it always been like this or has life just become so streesed for us all I wonder? I hope your family member gets the help they need. Although this has been on going for many years this episode has been the worst I have had, it's been awfully hard for the children to see me so down and angry.
Again thank you for coming across it means so much to know that there are people out there that read my blog and care.
