This Week ...

Sunday 26th October

I felt cheated today; the clocks went back but because it's a school holiday I don't have to get up early anyway, so didn't really appreciate that extra hour in bed! Still it was a dry day and not too cold so I was able to get out to do some much needed work in the garden, which took up most of the morning. I spent the rest of the day inside keeping myself busy - reading, sorted out a box of Ced's stuff, a bit of sewing and some background reading for the photography course.

Monday 27th October

I slept in late and then pottered about in the kitchen for the rest of the morning, followed by a tiring afternoon shifting gravel.  After tea I had a long soak in the bath and spent the rest of the evening watching the TV.

Tuesday 28th October

Today was tied up with tidying the garden and shifting some more gravel.  It's never ending and I still have more gravel to move but have damaged my shoulder so have no idea when I will finish it now.  I spent the afternoon packing my bag for tomorrow - camera, lens, food and drink, etc., and checking Google for tube stations and routes - I can't find my guide book and have wasted a good part of the day looking for it!

Wednesday 29th October

Up at 5am to catch a National Express coach to London to see the poppy installation at the Tower of London.  I've written about the day here.

Thursday 30th October

I didn't go to Slimming World for the weigh in as I was waiting in for the handyman to arrive. He was supposed to start at 9:30am but didn't show; after a few texts and attempts to contact him he eventually sent a text to say that he wouldn't be starting work due to personal problems and didn't know when he would be working again.  Not really what I wanted to hear, especially after the delay from his ankle injury, so I phoned around and arranged for someone else to do the work, starting next week.  That took most of the day to sort out and, to be honest, I  didn't have the enthusiasm for doing anything else so settled down with a book and tuned the rest of the world out!

Friday 31st October

I woke up feeling more positive than yesterday!  The morning was taken up with paperwork and dealing with enquiries from Head Office, completing photos for the scavenger hunt and choosing the music for next term.  I'd planned to go shopping in the afternoon but had an unexpected visit from a friend, so had a lovely afternoon catching up and putting the world to rights!

Saturday 1st November

It's been a nothing sort of day.  I misjudged the weather and decided to stay in because I thought it was going to rain, but I was wrong and it turned out to be a (mostly) sunny day.  I did a bit in the kitchen making some tomato soup, and then started sorting out my clothes and shoes to get rid of everything that no longer fits me ... I feel a shopping trip coming on!  I spent the evening at home reading through blogs and watching 'The Code' on BBC iplayer.

  1. Oh I was glad of the extra hour I was on a early shift so enjoying leaving a little later when it was light. I really want to see the Poppys will have to go before they go. I hope I do not miss them I have seen photos but I bet they are better in real life. Thanks for Linking up to Sunday Round up
