It's November ...

... and there's a lot happening this month.

Indoors, all the radiators are in a terrible state so they will all be replaced mid month and a Hive controller fitted, ready for a lovely warm house over the winter months. The electrician is returning at the end of the month to finish off, and then once he has finished, all the windows and external doors will be replaced so I'll finally have the security of locking windows again.

Outside, the landscape gardener starts work today. He'll replace both side fences first and then replace the sleepers in the retaining wall at the bottom of the garden by the stream. He's previously said that unless it's torrential rain, he'll still be able to get this part of the work done. However, he's also replacing the patio, but that is weather dependent and can't be done in the rain. If it's too wet or too cold the patio will have to wait until the weather improves.

Gardener M will be visiting some time during the month and we will start planning the planting. At least once the fencing and retaining wall are done, preparations for the planting can be started and I will have bits of a lovely garden in place next year. I have some ideas for the planting, but all I know for sure is that there will be lots of cosmos, gaura, salvias, and several rose bushes.

November is one of the busy birthday months, with both SiLs, three friends, and my sister and me, all celebrating our special days. It's the Big 70 for us, although my sister hasn't decided yet what age she's going to be this year ... she never admits to her true age!

I've actually managed to get a face to face appointment with my own doctor for later today, so hopefully that will end with all the necessary referrals I (think I) need. Fingers crossed, please.

And finally, there are some social events to look forward to ... a theatre trip on my birthday, a couple of meals out with friends, possibly trying out one of the new-to-me u3a groups if I get the okay from the group leader, and the last Something Snappy session of the year.

    1. If the weather doesn't hold, the landscaper will be back when things improve and I'm happy with that. I know it'll all be done before we want to start planting next year so it'll all work out in the end. xx

    1. The home things should definitely be completed by the end of the month and to be hones, I'm not too worried if the garden work carries on into next year ... it'll be done before the growing season, so that'll be fine.

My doctor's appointment went really well. He's done two referrals and ordered another lot of blood tests. I have another appointment with him on the 20th to get the results and discuss what to do next. xx
