An Admin Day
After a late start, it has turned out to be a productive day.
I've updated my monthly spreadsheet for regular income and expenditure, which has been on my mind to do since before Christmas. I have previously had a few attempts at it - I have monthly direct debits and payments, monthly income and also 4-weekly income, and it's how to fit that 4-weekly income into a monthly spreadsheet that I can't quite get my head around. Anyway, I'm just waiting for two more figures to add in and then it's ready to use.
I totally forgot to get the MOT done on my car, so have texted my usual mechanic to ask him to book it in for me and also do the winter checks for fluid levels, etc. It has to be done, but I'm not driving it at present and it's parked off the road on my own drive so it's not causing any problems for me. I'll be glad to get it done and be all nice and legal again though.
I've carried on reading the Michael Mosley book about diabetes, and some of the things I'm reading about are starting to make sense, so I'm pleased with that.
I also took some photos today. They were all taken indoors and are not for show yet as they are for my monthly challenge, but I am pleased to get started on them instead of leaving it to the last minute! I've also made a list of the ones I'd like to take around the town and they are in the diary to do some time next week, weather permitting. Niall has agreed to drive around to get those taken.
The only thing I didn't finish is sorting out my 2026 diary pages, transferring across birthdays, anniversaries, and medical appointments. That's a job for tomorrow.
We had our main meal at midday today, so there's just light eats to sort out for later on. We'll be watching TV tonight. We started watching the new Linley detective series on BBC1 last night. I loved the previous series starring Nathaniel Parker and Sharon Small so I wasn't too sure whether I'd like the new cast, but I am really enjoying it and didn't find myself comparing the portrayal of the characters at all. Is anyone else watching it?

Well done getting your spreadsheet done for income and expenses. I need to sit down and work on my own finances.
ReplyDeleteSounds like you had a good day and accomplished several things. Thank you for the reminder to start taking some photos for the monthly challenge!
Hope you have a wonderful rest of the day and week.
I'm relieved it's all sorted out now. The spreadsheet has been hovering at the back of my mind for a while now and I don't know why I didn't do it sooner ... well, I do as obviously procrastination ruled!
DeleteI hope you have a great week too. xx
First, Healthy Joyful 2026. Thanks for your comment on Linley, I have recorded it but good to get a recommendation. Your garden is going to be a haven of peace and enjoyment Eileen. The building site has gone and now a beautiful new home inside and out, enjoy. June
ReplyDeleteThanks June, and a Happy New Year to you too.
DeleteI really enjoyed the new Linley and a couple of my friends have also commented favourably about it as well. I do hope you enjoy it. I wasn't completely hooked after the first episode so stick with it if you feel the same.
I hope to get round to some garden planning next week, so I'll be posting my ideas on the blog and maybe asking for suggestions.
Do you have a blog, June? xx
