Thursday

the Church of St John the Evangelist in Upper Studley,
which is just under a mile away from my home

The plasterer came to look at the rooms I want to be skimmed. He arrived just after nine o'clock, and from the start was very negative and rather rude. He stayed for quite a long time and I don't really understand why, as it was very obvious that he wasn't interested in doing the work. He said he'll sent a quote next week, but I'll be surprised if he does, and I don't want to give him the work now anyway! So, it wasn't a good start to the day! I'm rethinking what to do about the walls I want to be skimmed and will talk to my BiL before I do anything else.

Next I dealt with some phones calls and messages about things I'd initiated on Wednesday. This went a lot better and meant I was able to complete my financial spreadsheet, my car is booked in for the MOT next Thursday, and I agreed to a telephone call about my application for Attendance Allowance for later this afternoon.

Then is was time to head off to the medical centre in town for a diabetes retinal scan. That went well, and it seems that they may also be able to take over the annual check of the nevus I have in my left eye. I hope so as this would save me having to trail down to Bath to the Royal United Hospital every year. I know it's only once a year, but anything that makes life easier! I'll get the results in about two weeks.

I'd planned to photograph inside the church in the photo (above) but there was something going on, so I'll try again another day. I need to get ready for the telephone consultation, so will love you and leave you. Back tomorrow ☺️
