Home and Garden

The IKEA flat packs arrived as promised yesterday afternoon. It's hard to believe that the contents of all of these boxes will soon be my lovely new kitchen. I don't envy my BiL, who will be the one assembling all of the units!

The man doing the hard landscaping came over yesterday afternoon for yet another discussion with my neighbour about the shared fence ... we're both paying 50% of the cost each, though she is insisting that she has the 'best' side of the fence! Anyway, she keeps changing her mind about what she wants, hence the visit, but hopefully she will stick to what was agreed yesterday ... fingers crossed 🤞

The electrician are making good progress, with just the spare bedroom and the living room to do now. Then the kitchen fitting starts on Monday ... I can't wait to have a proper kitchen again. The meal planning is going well and, as soon as I have a working kitchen again, I plan to start on some batch cooking.

I heard from M (my gardener) who I haven't seen since July when she had a hip replacement. She's coming to see me in October to see how my garden is doing ... not too good to be honest. I was so pleased to hear from her as I thought that she might decide to retire, but it sounds like she is planning to continue with the gardening for now. I may be wrong but that's the impression I got from her message. I hope I'm right as she's good fun, very knowledgeable, and really good company.

Well, that's all the news for now so I'll love you and leave you ... hopefully back with another post tomorrow.
