Five on Friday | The Little Things

Read | I finished reading 'The Hundred-Year-Old Man Who Climbed Out of the Window and Disappeared' by Jonas Jonasson.  When I mentioned it last week I said I wasn't really enjoying it but I stuck with it (only because it is a book group choice!) and ended up getting caught up in the story and liking it ... but have to admit that I was relieved it was a short book!  I've just started on 'Glow' by Jessica Maria Tuccelli, which has been on my to-read pile for ages.  I was supposed to read it a couple of years ago but kept putting it back to the bottom of the pile.

Watched | I've been watching the repeats of Lewis on the TV but that's about all I've watched.

Heard | I've been listening to Heart radio while I've been sorting through the books but nothing I heard stands out as being worth a special mention.

Made | I've made arrangements for the second stage of improvements to start in July - replacement front door, soffits and fascias, some plumbing work and changes to the central heating controls, and hopefully replacing the decking with a patio (although that may not be until August).  I think that's the end of all the major work and then it'll be on to the decorating and furnishings.

Worn | It's been an old clothes sort of week - no other choice with all the work I've been doing around the house.

And Lastly ... I'm off to see the comedian, Gary Delaney tonight. I don't think I've ever seen him before on TV (this was Julie's choice) so I'm hoping I like his humour.

Thanks to Morgana for organising the Little Things, and to Amy for organising Five on Friday.

  2. Getting all the organising done for the next stage of improvements is a job itself - I keep putting it off lol. I love watching Lewis episodes. Great show!

  3. So you wouldn't recommend the Hundred Year Old Man (etc) then. I've just finished reading Her Fearful Symmetry (Audrey Niffenegger, as in The Time Traveler's Wife) and I need something new. I just don't fancy anything on my 'to read' pile. Good luck with Glow.

  5. Nearly there with an end in sight of the clearing out - for me sorting through clothes is a real mixed bag (no pun intended) I hate to get rid of things that I wore when I was having wonderful memory making adventures. Hope you have a good weekend.

  6. I always enjoy finding out what someone else is reading. I need to clear-out and all the rain we've been having would have a good time to get started -- can't do anything outside. Enjoy the show. Have a great weekend.

  7. Glad you have had a good week and that the book turned out well in the end. It is difficult to keep going with a book that doesn't grab you isn't it. Listening to music while sorting your books sounds like a good way to have some company when working. Hope that you have enjoyed your evening out tonight. Thank you for your support of Five On Friday, I so appreciate it!!! Have a great weekend! xx

  8. Glad you stuck with the book, it wasn't a great book, but still rather amusing.
