Advent Calendar Day 10 | Christmas Stamp

I don't know many people who post cards now, or even deliver by hand - along with most of the people in my life I make a donation to charity instead of sending cards.

This stamp is the only one I've seen so far this year.

  1. I think most folk have cut down on cards this year for various reasons. The stamp is lovely though.

    1. I haven't seen the Christmas stamp collection yet but it's obviously the non-religious year. It's a very nostalgic design.

  2. I like your holiday stamp design. I grew up seeing red pillar boxes in the country of my birth (a former British crown colony). The mail boxes here, in the U.S., are blue and more box-like.

    1. Were the red pillar boxes exactly like the UK ones or were they a different design? It's never occurred to me that the colonies had red post boxes. Did they have the red phone boxes as well?

    2. I don't know if they had the exact design or not, but I do remember they had the reigning monarch's initials stamped on them! And, yes, red phone boxes, as well! :)

  3. Very Christmasy stamp. With our postal woes this year & still not fully resolved, there will be fewer cards sent. The lack of card sending makes me sad.

    1. From the news, it sounds like the Canadian post will be a bit hit and miss this year. I hope all of yours gets delivered in time.

  4. That's a lovely stamp. I only send cards to close family. I love getting a card from them. It's such a nice surprise, a reminder that they are thinking of you and there's usually a little note inside. Then again, I love sending/receiving postcards too. It's a shame that postage is getting so high though.

    1. I still sent snail mail letters to friends and family but no longer send cards to the over 18s. All the under 18s receive birthday and Christmas cards until their 18th birthday. It's something agreed in the family and although I don't necessarily agree with it, I've gone along with the majority decision.

  5. Love the stamp! This year here in US we have a series of 4 winter birds that are lovely! I'll use them all year round.

    1. The Christmas series of stamps rarely disappoint. I do like the nostalgia of this year's selection.
