A Good Day
It's been a good day! I've finally met my immediate neighbours, and I think I've landed on my feet again. The owners of the bungalow to the right of mine (looking from the road) are very friendly and chatty. It's a mum and her adult son, and she's the one who gave me the leaflets shown in the photo above so that I'd have an idea of some of the things that are going on in the village. They both told me to knock on their door if I needed any help at any time. The ones on the other side of mine, again a mother and adult son, were friendly but less chatty and I had the impression that they prefer to keep themselves to themselves.
There's a bit more progress to report today. The plasterer will be removing all the coving tomorrow and the drylining will be started on Saturday. All the plasterboard will be delivered tomorrow, about 40 sheets of it, so that will have to be stored somewhere! I also contacted a local electrician and he came round after he finished work to quote for the electrical work. If I accept his price, the work could start fairly quickly as he'd be here at the same time as the kitchen installers and will work alongside them to get the sockets in the best positions. So far, it's all looking very promising.
Sounds like a good day! Glad you met the neighbours.
ReplyDeleteI felt like I actually achieved something, which was good. I'm glad to meet the neighbours at last, and that they are friendly. xx
DeleteI'm thoroughly enjoying reading about your new home and all your plans, Eileen. Happy new home! x
ReplyDeleteThanks Lynn. You'll be hearing about my new home for quite a while! I'll post the garden photos tomorrow. xx
DeleteGood news re your neighbours. Nice of her to bring round local leaflets too. Happy days ahead for you.
ReplyDeleteThanks Carole. It was very thoughtful of her, wasn't it. I don't regret the move at all and know that I will be very happy here. xx
DeleteGreat progress - and good neighbours are a treasure. I'm glad yours are but they are lucky too. xx
ReplyDeleteThanks Joy. Yes, good neighbours really are to be treasured. Having lived next door to the neighbours from h3ll in a previous home, I know just how important it is. xx
