Things Are Happening!

I signed all the legal documents this morning and posted them back to my solicitor via special delivery, which is guaranteed to arrive at their offices by 1pm tomorrow. I also transferred the balance of money required to purchase the bungalow to my solicitor, and that will be in their bank account by close of work today. This means that we will be exchanging contracts this week.

I spoke to the Estate Agent to discuss a tentative completion date. I need to complete before the end of March as the Stamp Duty increases on April 1st and I'd have to find an additional £2,500 if we complete after that date. I proposed 11th March but my buyer has come back and said 17th March is better for her, so that's what we've agreed on. The people selling to me have said they'll agree with whatever date suits me, and the removal firm can fit me in on the 17th ... so March 17th it is. I can't tell you how relieved I am to reach this stage because at the end of last week it seemed an impossibility.

So that means I have just under three weeks to complete the packing. That's plenty of time if things were normal, but feeling ill and having no energy means that I'm relying on friends and family to help me. It'll all get done ... it has to!

  1. Wishing you all the best with your moving date. Our buyers messed us round so much I ended up throwing my toys out of the pram and saying it will be the 25th October OR ELSE! We did move on 25th but had to find another removal company as our previous one was all booked up. Good Luck. Xx
