Everyday Life
The electrician continues to make good progress. He just has the living room to do today and tomorrow, then he'll return after the kitchen is installed to hard wire some of the appliances, and complete the garage lighting. I'm relegated to my bedroom today because of the noise and dust, but Niall will stick around to help move the furniture ... I think I've got the best deal!
We're currently binge watching 'The Resident' on Netflix. I think we have another three seasons to watch, so about another fifty episodes, and we're both enjoying it. I don't know what we'll watch next but we have plenty of time to choose! I've treated myself to a new (and bigger) TV for the living room and the existing one will be moved to the main bedroom for those days when ill health confines me to bed. I doubt I'll use the bedroom TV much but it does give me options.
I only have one book left to read - 'A Winter Grave' by Peter May. I have loads more books but they are currently packed away in boxes in the conservatory and I really don't want to start moving all the boxes around to find them. I see a trip to the library in the near future, unless my sister comes up trumps with another bag load of books! I'm enjoying reading again. I'm not getting through as many books in a week as I used to, but I'm happy with what I'm managing after so many years of not reading at all.
We're sort of discussing a trip to London to celebrate my birthday in November - it's the big 7 0 this year. Well, I'm discussing it, but Niall is doing his best to ignore me. I bet I win!
We have booked my London trip this November when I reach 70, see you there. 1955 was a good year.
ReplyDeleteI agree. 1955 was definitely a good year!
DeleteIt looks like my birthday trip will have to be delayed, possibly until the new year. The landscaping and the replacement doors and windows are scheduled for completion in November and they have to take priority. But, the idea of a 70th birthday trip has been agreed, so I'm happy about that. xx
Sounds like autumn is starting to show its colors over there. It's still summer over here. I hope your planned trip to London for your birthday goes well. :)
ReplyDeleteYes, autumn is definitely making us aware of its presence, but I love this season so there are no complaints from me. The birthday trip has been agreed but it probably won't happen until January - I want to get the major work in the house and garden completed this side of Christmas. xx
