Tuesday 4 - Let's Blog

This week's Tuesday 4 is all about blogging ...

1. Why did you begin blogging?  I started reading blogs when I was caring for my late partner, who had Motor Neurone Disease. I wasn't interested in the TV programmes he wanted to watch so reading the blogs was something I could do without disturbing him, and was something I enjoyed doing. I eventually discovered a blog that hosted a monthly photo scavenger hunt and decided to join in ... that was my first ever blog post.

2. What benefits does blogging offer you? Being part of an online community helps my emotional wellbeing. My health is not good and there are now many days when I'm not well enough to venture out, but the virtual trips to read about the lives and experiences of my blogging friends helps me to feel less isolated.

3. Have you made friends from blogging? Yes, I have. I've met four of my blogging friends in person. One of those lives very close to me now and we meet up from time to time ... coincidentally, she was the first person to ever comment on my blog! Even the bloggers I haven't met in person feel like real friends to me.

4. Where do you get ideas for things you blog about? Do other bloggers influence you? I blog about whatever is happening in my life so it has evolved into an online diary of sorts. Yes, other bloggers do influence me and I try out recipes and ideas they have shared on their blogs.

Tuesday 4 is now run by Annie and continued in memory of Toni Taddeo. Everyone is welcome to join in. The questions are posted on Sunday nights to give you a few days to get your post ready.

  1. Hello, nice to meet you. I find blogging is good for making sure we don't get too isolated when we aren't able to be out and about. The bonus is that some of us have met bloggers in real life. I'm sorry about your partner's passing but happy you are able to continue blogging.

    1. Hello, thanks for visiting my blog. I've been very poor about blogging lately, having had lots of problems with Blogger, and I almost gave on on blogging completely. I'm glad I decided to persevere as the blogging community is an important part of my life and the access issues made me realise just how important it is to me. xx

  2. I enjoyed reading your post, Eileen. I'm sorry that you are experiencing more health issues, but, blogs do enable us to experience new things, don't they?

    1. Thanks Bless. I do have more health issues but fortunately I heard from my GP surgery and, after some blood tests, will get to see my own doctor. Hopefully, he will be able to get me sorted out!

I agree that blogs definitely enable us to experience new things. That's certainly been the case for me. xx

    1. Thanks Carole, it's very kind of you to say that.

No I haven't seen The Midnight Bell yet, but it is (obviously!) on my list for future theatre trips. I may be ever so slightly jealous that you have seen it already 😉xx
