The good news first!

The good news is that I can now get the depth of field I want in my photos.  I've had real problems achieving this but I've got it sorted.  This one was taken today in my sister's garden.

The bad news is that I've worked out what the problem is.  The camera isn't working properly, probably as a result of being dropped that time. There haven't been any obvious problems but I worked out today that it is actually focusing behind the focus point, so to get this shot (which still isn't pin sharp) I've had to put the focus point behind the flower.  It sounds complicated, but I know what I mean, just can't explain it very well.
So the camera will be going to the camera hospital and my old camera will be back in use for a while.  Hope it's not too expensive - it won't be covered by the guarantee because I dropped it.

  1. Dearest Eileen,
Oh,you have good news and bad news related with photos☆☆☆ Blogging increased my interests in camera, even though I am still not good at it(^^;)

Lots of love and hugs from Japan, xoxo Miyako*

  2. I hope your camera will be made quickly!!Greetings from Athens Eileen!!

  3. Ja, ich glaube starke Erschütterung kann eine Kamera nicht gut vertragen. Bleibt zu hoffen, dass es nicht zu teuer wird, viel Glück dabei...

    Lieben Gruß

  4. Your picture of your rose is really lovely - such a beautiful colour.
It is such a shame that your camera is not working very well, I hope they manage to fix it quickly and that it doesn't cost too much.

  5. Beautiful photo
although I have no idea what "depth of field" is
    but it must be good
as you picture is so clear and wonderful

Hope your camera is fixed soon
    and doesn't cost too much

    Have a great weekend

  6. Yeah, glad you have worked it out, shame about your camera, hope it gets sorted soon. xx
