20/52: Make Ice Cream in a Bag

Today we went to Warminster to do the 'Go Bustard' trail (more about that later) and when we got back we had a go at making some ice cream in a bag.  I saw this idea ages ago and this was the first attempt.

Here's the recipe

  • half a cup of whole milk (or use flavoured milk - we used strawberry and didn't add items 1 & 2)
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • vanilla
Put these ingredients in a small ziploc bag, squeezing out the excess air.

  • 3 cups of crushed ice
  • a third of a cup of salt
Put these two items in a large ziploc bag, then put the small ziploc bag in as well.  Seal the large bag.  Carefully squeeze bag until ice cream is thickened.  This takes about 10 - 15 minutes.  Remove the small bag, unseal and eat.  Enjoy!

We did ... that's why there's no pictures!
