The Simple Woman's Daybook - 15th August 2012

FOR TODAY

Outside my window ... it is raining.  Again! The forecast is for a sunnier afternoon, so fingers crossed.

I am thinking ... what to do first. The choice is between housework, updating my photography blog, reading a book and doing some cooking. I already have one eye on the bookshelf as I type this!

I am thankful ... for my life. Things are going well - we're both happy and enjoying each day.

In the kitchen ... well, I've just closed the door on it. Enough said!  Later I'll venture in there to prepare a meal  - I'll do something creative with chicken today.

I am wearing ... red skirt and t-shirt

I am creating ... lots of photographs as part of my course.

I am going ... to watch the new series of 'Who do you think you are?' tonight.

I am wondering ... nothing in particular.  I'm working hard at enjoying the 'now' and forgetting about 'what ifs' and how things could have been.

I am reading ... the Bible.  Also various photography text books as part of my course.

I am hoping ... that Ced doesn't catch sight of himself in a mirror.  This morning, I shaved off his beard and trimmed his moustache and, as usual after I've had a go at it, the moustache is very lop-sided.  Everyone who visits will be under strict instructions not to laugh or mention it in any way!

I am looking forward to ... another day out with Lauren next week.  She's only 15 but she's good fun and brilliant company and I'm flattered that she still enjoys spending time with me.

I am learning ... how to use my camera properly.  I've finally had to give in and read the manual.

Around the house ... well, let's just say that I will be spending quite a lot of time over the next two or three weeks getting on top of things again!

I am pondering ... the photography exhibition I went to yesterday.

One of my favourite things ... writing letters using a fountain pen.

A few plans for the rest of the week: some housework, take photographs for my coursework, trips to Lacock Abbey and Stonehenge - weather permitting.

A peek into my day ... I was supposed to be going out with Julie and Lauren for a photo walk but we've cancelled because of the rain. I'll go to the library later if the rain stops but apart from that I'll just potter about at home.

A favourite quote for today ...
