49/365: Dump My Junk Day 18
Day 18 - 18 pieces of concert programmes, greetings cards (both mine and Ced's) and thank-you cards from ex-pupils. There's actually a lot more of this sort of thing around the house and the majority of it is going; I've decided that I'm only going to keep a few precious cards from family, close friends and from Ced. I'll always have the memories, I'll still have the photos, but I no longer feel the need to fill cupboards with things that I never look at from one year to the next.
Total items this month = 171
Eileen - you are SUCH an inspiration with these posts. I wait each day with anticipation to see what's being released next. I typically do my purges in swoops, but now I'm actually gathering a few items every day because you've given me a nudge. Some go in trash and others in a giveaway pile in the garage.
ReplyDeleteMe too - I've just finished a massive inventory of all the unread books I own, and filled a carrier bag with bits for the charity shop. The latter happens periodically anyway, but I'm getting the itch to do more - particularly in the wardrobe department... I'm also terrible when it comes to hoarding memorabilia, cards etc. I did a big clearout when I left home, but there are still bags of old letters in the loft. I'm getting better about not keeping so much in the first place but like you, there are some which remain sacred. Thanks for the inspiration!
ReplyDeleteHi Eileen, for years kept cards, but currently hold more. I have enjoyed the drawers to put tablecloths, for example;))! Hugs, Ailime
ReplyDeleteYep I have loads of these, even found the sympathy cards to my mum when my dad died in 1975!! Still got them! x
