Trowbridge Carnival

I've been brave!

Well, not that brave .... it's just that I've finally used my camera on something other than the automatic setting or one of the auto modes.  And which venue did I choose for my first venture away from the safe 'n easy camera setting?  Just a night time shoot of the Trowbridge Carnival with all the brightly lit floats, flourescent street lights and the walking entries which weren't illuminated at all.

I met up with my niece Laura, her husband Brian and their two children, Tinkerbell and Tweenie and one of Laura's friends and her two daughters.  And then started snapping away ....

..... in the end the photos weren't too bad but I ending up resorting to using flash for some of the ones of the children. I managed a couple of decent pics of my friend's daughter, Lauren, who was performing with her majorette troup 'Angels With Attitude!'

I won't bore you with all the photos (I took 108) but here's a selection so you can see how I got on.

  3. brilliant, eileen, I have to admit that it takes a lot for me to move out of the "P" comfort zone, you are more adventurous than me, but worth it for some great pics. I love the carnival, have seen the A's with A at Devizes.
