18/365: Euonymus
This is not at it best! In autumn it is a bit of a show-off when the leaves are fiery red and it stands out from all the other plants. The new growth is just starting to show but for now it is just the stems, which are interesting in their own right. This image show the cork-like wings on each stem which give the euonymus its other name - the spindle tree.
