Tuesday
We had heavy rain again yesterday afternoon but no thunder this time. I think it has rained during the night as well, so the ground will be too wet to do much in the garden - it's clay soil and will be waterlogged and heavy to work.
I now don't have much on today. The quiz night has been cancelled as two of us can't make it so I will have an evening at home watching 'Ten Things I Hate About You', which is our next choice for the film club/Girls Night In.
So apart from the usual music practice, puzzles, reading and coffee breaks, I think I'll carry on with some more bulk cooking for the freezer. The dhal, and the pea soup I cooked yesterday have both been portioned and put in the freezer but there's plenty of room for some more meals. I've decided on macaroni cheese, hidden veg bolognese sauce, shepherdess pie, fish pie, and vegetable curry, but will need to shop for some more ingredients before I can get started so that's my first job ...better get started!
Lots of rain at your end! Lots of cooking going on, too! Will quiz night be rescheduled? A quiet evening at home watching a movie sounds like a good alternative, though. Hope you have a pleasant day, Eileen.
ReplyDeleteThis particular quiz is held monthly so we'll probably go in September. Either that or look for a different one ... there's plenty of choice locally.
DeleteYes, we seem to be having April showers in August, definitely not our usual summer weather!
I am having a pleasant day thanks Bless. I've completed my actions from the band meeting last night and am now taking it easy, just pottering about at home.
Please send rain this way - we need (thank you). I haven't made Shepherdess pie in awhile, umm if I make now could we say this is a SPSH item enjoyed out of season?
ReplyDeleteBless asked for the rain first so you'll have to wait in line 😂
DeleteYes, you let me have the car window sticker so I'll let you have the shepherdess pie 😁
Hope you will enjoy that old film!!! I did. It features the since deceased actor Heath Ledger. I followed his career, at the very beginning, way back in the tv series "Roar"... -smile- Wonder if anyone remembers that?!? Probably not.
ReplyDeleteWhat fun to have a film club! Many book clubs. But have never seen this idea before. It's brilliant. -smile-
✨🍑✨
It started as an evening together to watch a film but we all talked so much we never got round to watching the film. We changed it so we agree the film and then watch it before we meet again to discuss it ... like the format of the book groups I organise.
DeleteWondering if you have ever considered making your blogging Font bigger?
ReplyDeleteIt's quite tiny, for my eyes.
Perhaps you would ask your Dear Readers if they would like it bigger? If enough of them would, you could consider making it larger...
Please.. And thank you...

I have increased the font size in the past which pleased some and upset others. It's impossible to please everyone so I now leave it to anyone who has problems with the font size to change to zoom percentage on their own screen. That way everyone can find the right font size to suit their personal requirements.
DeleteAbout font size: it is easy to make it bigger on your own computer! On my Apple computer, I press command-plus. I am sure there is a way on other computers too!
DeleteThanks Dianna.
