Yesterday turned out to be a bit of a 'nothing to report' sort of day. I didn't feel unwell but something wasn't right and I ended up doing very little apart from feeding myself and ignoring my troublesome neighbour. It seems that she hasn't given up yet from the number of times she rang the doorbell but I didn't feel up to a repeat of the previous episode and, as I wasn't dressed, chose to ignore the door. It probably would have been better to speak to her and get it over and done with, but knowing what she has been saying about me to others I didn't feel up to it ... just the fact that she was wanting to speak to me, left me feeling completely unsettled but I will answer next time she tries.
I don't have any 'must do' things today so will just see what takes my fancy ... most likely reading, piano, and letter writing. Julie and Lauren should be calling round later this afternoon for a doorstep chat and they will have Baby P with them so I'm keeping my fingers crossed that she will be awake this time - the last few times she's been asleep so she obviously finds travelling by car very relaxing! They already have my gifts to them so this flying visit is to let me have their gift to me.
This evening I am hoping to walk round to see the Christmas lights ... not the public displays but the external lights on private houses. I'm always amazed at the effort some people make and there are some brilliant displays to be seen.
Later I'll watch The Shows Must Go On choice for this week, which is Kinky Boots. I've seen this show before so I know I'll enjoy it.
Oh, Eileen, what a nasty situation for you. She sounds a most unpleasant person and as for talking behind your back - well, words fail me! (((hugs)))ReplyDelete
Have a lovely tour of the local lights. They are very cheering, aren't they?
I could do without it! I'm hoping it will stop after Christmas.Delete
There seem to be a lot more decorated houses this year, maybe a sign that people are needing something cheerful in their lives?
I hope you are feeling better, today. I wonder if your troublesome neighbor's refusal to accept a polite "No" from you is contributing to that feeling of things not being quite right. I know I would feel rather stressed if someone kept knocking at my door (I don't have a doorbell). I hope you are able to have a relaxing day, today.ReplyDelete
I think you're right, Bless. I'm finding it difficult to relax at home and dread anyone coming to the door.Delete
I'm seeing good friends this afternoon and a fun musical to watch on TV tonight, so I have that to look forward to.
Hope you're feeling a lot better today. We have rain, yuk! I can cope with colder weather but not rain, so no walking today. But you sound as though you have planned a pleasant day.ReplyDelete
It's pouring down here as well so, unless we're lucky enough to get a break in the rain, I think my doorstep chat with friends will be rather short!Delete
I feel better today, thanks, and have a couple of things to look forward to today. Hope you have a good day too.
How awful! "get it over and done with" should've happened at the time of your first polite response. Talk about refusing to take no for an answer! I am so sorry you're having to suffer through this. These days, someone at the door no matter the reason is just too physically close. We're surging here. I ignore the door.ReplyDelete
I know you'll enjoy your walk enjoying the neighborhood decorations. Sounds like fun :)
I've just heard the new arrangements for the UK. The changes to what is permissible at Christmas won't affect me or my family but I am very concerned to hear about the new strain of coronavirus and how easily it can be transmitted.Delete
I have one more Christmas thing to deliver and one more to receive and then I plan to pull up the drawbridge and stay safe. I haven't seen all the local decorations yet as it's raining hard but ventured far enough to get some fresh air and stretch my legs. I got drenched but a hot shower warmed me up and now I'm going to watch Kinky Boots on YouTube.
Hope you enjoy your weekend x
I hope your pesky neighbor finds a new focus and leaves you alone. How fun family will pay you a flying visit and you get to see Baby. Pull up your drawbridge and stay safe.ReplyDelete
That's my hope too. It'll sort itself out I'm sure.Delete
It was lovely to catch up with J, L and to see the baby, although the weather forced a shorter visit than expected.
I'm all safe and warm at home now enjoying the evening's entertainment 😀
Sorry you are having neighbor troubles; we are blessed with really good ones. In fact, they are all better than we are. 😁 We haven't made it out to see Christmas lights as yet - our nearby 4-H fairgrounds puts up a display every year to benefit charity, so we need to get by there for sure.ReplyDelete
I'm sure I'll sort the neighbour issue soon.Delete
I'm not going to any of the charity displays this year, too many people for comfort, so will just wander around the local streets to see all the houses that have been decorated this year.
