'Something Snappy' at the Tithe Barn

We returned to Bradford on Avon for the June meeting of the Something Snappy group but this time we met at the Tithe Barn and took our photos in that area, rather than the town centre. This month's list was: look through, rubbish, angled, damaged, entwined, narrow, half, open, begins with E, green, and a bonus photo which was free choice.

look through

rubbish

angled

damaged

entwined

narrow

half

open

begins with E

green

free choice - inside the Tithe Barn

We all struggled with 'begins with E' and 'entwined'. Afterwards we walked along the canal to the Lock Inn Café to share our photos with the rest of the group, and some of us may have caved in and ordered a full English breakfast ... it was delicious, though!

  1. You always find such interesting things to photograph for your challenges.
Bradford on Avon is such an interesting place - I can remember going there when my late husband was interested in finding the places in an old book of canal photos

    1. BoA is definitely an interesting place. It's full of history and many of the historical buildings have been retained, as has the canal history. Did you manage to find all the places in your book? xx

  3. You took some great photos. I'm still half asleep so admit I don't know what your begins with E is :-( It looks a lovely place and I'm glad you enjoyed your breakfast afterwards :-) xx

    1. Thanks Eileen. It's the letter E at the start of a run of fencing. It is a lovely place and for once was fairly quiet - it's usually busier and photography can be a challenge as people keep walking into your photo! The cafe has new management so we weren't sure what to expect, but it's still as good as ever, thankfully. xx

  4. All great photos for a fun challenge. I see an E at the end of the fence or was it E for enclosure?

    1. The prompt was 'begins with E' so this was the letter E at the start of a run on fencing. E for enclosure would have worked as well but I didn't think of that! xx

  5. What great photos you've taken. Look through and angled are particularly good. Half looks fun. The tithe Barn looks similar to the barn in Buckland Abbey in Yelverton, Devon. Helen S.

    1. Thanks Helen. It's the same building style as the barn at Buckland Abbey but, if memory serves me correctly, this one is smaller. xx

  6. I like all your photos, especially the ones for 'green' and 'half'. I, too, thought the one for "E" stood for Enclosure! Sounds like someone enjoyed her breakfast! :D

    1. Sadly, I didn't think of 'enclosure' for E as there were other areas where that would have made a really good photo. Never mind! Oh yes, I did enjoy my breakfast! xx

    1. I like historical places like this and it is a great place to visit. There are also some workshops where local craftsmen sell their work, a children's playground, other historical buildings in addition to the tithe barn, an orchard, and easy access to the canal. It's a good place for a day out, and all free! xx

  9. What a fun location for a photo shoot. You always have a good take on the difficult to find items. Well snapped!

  10. I like your photo of looking out from the tithe barn, today I am reading a novel (Lucia in London by E.F. Benson) and in the novel the people in an English village are setting up the village museum in a tithe barn. So now I have enjoyed your tithe barn photos doubly. I highly recommend the Mapp and Lucia novels, by the way.
