Lifestyle Changes in 2025

Happy New Year to all of you!
Following on from yesterday's post, I've been doing some thinking about what I'd like to achieve in 2025.
Home: Obviously, getting settled in my new home will be a priority but I plan to take my time before rushing in and starting on improvements. More about that once I've finally moved.
Garden: I have the excitement of planning a new-to-me garden. M, my lovely gardener, will come round once I own the property and we'll have a planning session. I'll be taking all my pots with me but I'm not sure how many of them will feature in the new garden yet ... it depends what appears in the new garden once the growing season starts.
Music: Resuming playing/learning the piano is definitely on the list. I can't reach the piano at the moments as it's hidden behind a huge pile of packing boxes, and I miss playing it every day. I won't have a separate music room at the new place, so the piano will be in the living room and I think that will help as it won't be 'out of sight, out of mind'.
Photography: This is a must for me. It's a hobby I enjoy and still want in my life but I have let things drop and seem to only use my phone to take photographs now. I'll continue with the u3a Something Snappy group I run once a month, but I also want to dust off my DSLR and get out and about and take some proper photos.
Swimming: This was going so well but I had to stop when I had the knee replacement operation until the wound healed properly. I was just about to start again when the eye infection made itself known and swimming was on the banned list of activities. I don't know when I'll be able to start again but as soon as I can, I will be going weekly.
Reading: I used to be an avid reader but somehow that has changed and I rarely pick up a book now. I desperately want to change this round and 2025 is going to be the year I get my reading mojo back.
Healthy lifestyle: Which just boils down to eating sensibly, losing weight, and exercising regularly ... I just have to get on and do it.
Blogging: I have really missed blogging so intend to get back to updating this blog regularly. It's a lovely, friendly, online community and I have missed being a part of it.
... and also some thinking about what I don't want in my life in 2025
Hoarding: Or in other words, stop holding on to things I don't want, don't need, and/or no longer use. As I've been packing up my current home it's been obvious just how many things I've kept from the previous house and have never used in the eleven years I have lived here. I can see lots more decluttering in my future!
Wasting time: By which I mean all the time I waste on social media. I don't particularly enjoy it and I need to stop scrolling through YouTube and Facebook. There are better ways of filling my days.
... My One Little Word for 2025 is "accomplish". There's lots I want to do this year!
Exciting to find the house you want, with a new to you garden, so many plans for you.
ReplyDeleteThanks Marlene. I keen to get it all settled now so I can move in and start planning the changes I want to make. xx
DeleteIt all sounds extremely exciting and I am so looking forward to reading about how it all goes through the coming year. xx
ReplyDeleteI'm really looking forward to moving now. The lack of stairs will make life so much easier for me, which is the main reason for the move ... implementing the improvements and having a new garden to play with are the icing on the cake! xx
DeleteHappy New Year Eileen. Your plans sound very positive. Sometimes you just have to press pause don't you. My word for the year is gentle. Arilx
DeleteHappy New Year to you too, Aril. I'm hoping 2025 will be a better year for all of us. Gentle is a lovely choice for your 2025 word. xx
DeleteHappy New Year, Eileen. You have some wonderful goals to accomplish this year! I'm sure you'll achieve them all in time.
ReplyDeleteThanks Bless, and a Happy New Year to you too. I want to get back to living a 'normal' life instead of living a life governed by ill health. That's the plan anyway!
