Laptop Repairs, Friend Visiting, and More Packing

one of the roses is covered in buds ... I think it's confused!

In the end I had a productive day yesterday, although it took me ages to get started. I managed to pack five large boxes before I ran out of energy, so the study isn't finished yet. It's not as much as I'd hoped to do on the packing side of things, but on the other hand I did sort out all the guarantees and instruction booklets I need to leave for the next owner and I started making some notes to leave for her as well. That's what the previous owners did for me and I found it very useful.

I also had a panicky look at my finances. I'd obviously worked out all the money side of this move and knew I had enough to cover all the expenses of buying a new property and moving home, but because I'd looked at so many properties and the one I am buying is slightly more expensive that the others I'd considered, I suddenly thought that there would be a shortfall and I wouldn't be able to buy it. I scrutinised all my calculations and of course there isn't a problem, but for a short while there I was really panicking!

Today I'll carry on and pack some more boxes but I only have this morning to do that as I have visitors this afternoon. Kate is coming over to sort out my laptop and get it working again after it blue screened on me. I can't afford to replace it just yet so am hoping she is able to get it up and running again. Friend L will be here as well. What with her being ill and me being ill, we haven't seen each other for ages and we're both keen to catch up ... we still have to celebrate our November birthdays, hers on the 29th and mine on the 26th, and we didn't manage to get together over Christmas either.

  1. Phew - it must have been such a relief to realise that the finances were fine. At least now you can be absolutely sure.
And fingers crossed for the laptop! xx

    1. Oh yes. I hadn't put the calculations in my spreadsheet (no idea why!), but it's all there now and I can keep a running total as the money is eventually paid out.

The laptop is working again but we don't know how long it will last, so at some stage I will have to fork out for a new one.xx

  2. I suppose it's natural to worry when you're entering into such a big committment. It must be a constant temptation to look through everything as you pack. It's kind of you to leave the instruction booklets and notes. You hear such horror stories.

    1. I'm trying to be good and just pack things, but I admit to quite a lot of time wasting as I come across things I'd forgotten I have. xx
