Saturday

Yesterday was a very successful day on the decluttering front. With no effort on my part I have sold the alto saxophone; G, my hairdresser was relating the story of the doll's house sale to another of her friends and mentioned that, as a joke, I'd asked her to find a buyer for a saxophone. It turns out her friend was interested and has agreed to buy the saxophone, accessories and music books for the full asking price ... I've asked G to find a buyer for the clarinet next as she's obviously very good with her sales pitch! 😂

I've now taken photos of everything else I want to sell and will continue posting the adverts for the general items and some of the specialist engineering things over the next few days. I'll have to ask my nephew and/or one of Ced's engineering friends for help with the description on a few of the items as I don't have a clue. I'll place the adverts for the other instruments and the items more suitable for Christmas gifts next week. I'm still getting enquiries for the cash on collection items that haven't sold yet and the next group of eBay auctions finish tomorrow ... all of those have bids so have definitely sold.

I'm out and about today. I'll leave home early enough to fill up with petrol and then present myself at the doctor's surgery for my flu jab at 8:45 am, and then a drive over to Devizes for the first of the Heritage Open Day events I've chosen for this year, which is a look around St Mary's Church. It's the online choir at noon but there are a couple of other things I'd also like to do in or near Devizes so I may give that a miss and have a day out if the weather is kind.

My September decluttering challenge:

  • 1st = 2 stained storage boxes (to be recycled)
  • 2nd = a band fleece (only worn once so returning it to the band as I will never wear it again)
  • 3rd = 3 sci-fi books (gifting to L)
  • 4th = digital photo frame (never used, sold to H)
  • 5th = a measuring jug (to be donated as I never use it)
  • 6th = a band tie (returning to the band)
  • 7th = unused greetings cards (I'm unlikely to use them so they will be donated)
  • 8th = a pair of shoes (one of the heels is wobbly, so only fit for the bin)
  • 9th = discoloured drinks bottle (in recycling bin)
  • 10th = one of the music bags I used for teaching (to be donated)
  • 11th = plastic storage boxes (I never use them, gifting to E)

    1. I'm currently waiting in the carpark at the surgery and it's lovely and sunny, so hopefully that will continue throughout the day. I hope you get to your open day too.

  3. Maybe you'll have to give G a commission if she continues to find buyers for your items! :D Glad you are getting your flu shot; I need to call and schedule mine! Hope the nice weather continues and you have a fun day out. :)

    1. Yes, I will be getting G something as a thank you.

I'm back home now. It's not raining but the sky is full of dark clouds and the light had gone as far as photography is concerned but I did get to see everything I wanted to. I also bumped in to someone I haven't seen for years so had a long chat with her. It's been a lovely day so far xx
