Sunday

Joy mentioned yesterday that she liked my key holder so, as I have nothing better in mind for today's post, here it is!

Just a cheap eBay find, it's been one of my better ideas for staying organised. All the keys are kept on here so I don't have that last minute hunt for keys when I'm ready to go out. Most of the keyrings are Harry Potter ones. Obviously! I have to replace the one on my car keys (left hook) as the Deathly Hallows one I was using has broken. The yellow duck keyring belongs to someone else and will be going soon, I hope.

Once a month I check for all the birthdays, get the greeting cards ready to be posted and then put them in the tray above the hooks. This is right by the front door so, as I see this each time I leave the house, it's easy to grab the correct envelope and pop it in the post box. I also keep appointment letters, theatre tickets and invitations in the tray as well.

So there it is, keeping me organised for £10.99!

  3. I like your key holder and how nicely organized you are when it comes to the birthday cards, etc. I keep my keys in my purse/handbag. That way, they are less likely to get dislodged and thrown around if there is an earthquake. I keep my medications in my purse, too, and keep my purse on my bedside table, so that, if there is an earthquake at night, it is easier to grab the purse and hold on to it and I have my keys and other necessary items handy, should I need to rush out of the house! An earthquake during the day is bad enough, but, an earthquake at night is very scary, because, often, the lights go off and one is in total darkness. I sleep with a flashlight (torch) under my pillow, just in case! Things you don't need to worry about, but, I must be aware of! :)

    1. After Ced died I kept forgetting birthdays so it was important to me that I got myself organised. This was my solution and has worked well.

Luckily I don't have to worry about earthquakes. The whole thought of having to constantly be prepared scares me and I don't envy you at all. Keeping essentials in your purse to grab and run if necessary is a great idea.

    1. I buy all my greeting cards in one go so I always have the essential ones ready and waiting to be signed and addressed. It's the sort of thing I stress about unnecessarily so this is my approach to a calmer and effective solution 😁

  5. The key ring holder is a tried and true idea that we've never adopted here, but I think we need to do that. I love the idea of putting outgoing mail there too. In 2020 I have vowed to be better at getting birthday cards in the mail timely. This my just help out in that regard.

  6. I had read this post this a.m. right before my son came by my house to drop off his dog - we do doggie daycare on most eekdays. He was running late because he had left his car keys in his wife's car, and she leaves for work before him and in the opposite direction. This is the second time this happened, once he lost his keys with the help of one of their cats. So I know what Santa will be getting him in his stocking. They need to hang their keys up as they enter the house, and he can position this type of rack where the cats can't get to the keys. So thanks for being Santa's little helper today.
