Tuesday

I don't really have much to chat about today so this will be a short post!

Last night's book group was interesting - most of the others hadn't read the book so I could have got away with not finishing it! The two who had read it agreed with my own thoughts, that it was a good story which would be significantly improved by removing all the annoying repetitive descriptions. Our next choice is 'The Left Hand of Darkness' by Ursula le Guin.

We're all off to the cinema tonight to see 'Yesterday' and the rest of my day will be taken up with various bits of admin, some personal and some for the band.

  1. What a lovely rose! Too funny that most of the others in the book group hadn't read the book! But, at least those who had read it agreed with your own opinion of the book. Hope you have a good day and a fun evening out to see the movie.

    1. We still had an interesting talk about the book - we agreed some time ago that we'd still discuss the book even if some people hadn't finished it and if that gave away the ending, then so be it.

This rose is the bud for my 'white' rose which fades as it ages, ending up as white just before the petals fall off!

  2. Ah, well, at least you could take the 'moral' high ground!
That rose is lovely. I never had much luck with roses so gave up on them.

    1. Yes, I did point that out to them!!

One of my roses is failing miserably. It's having an identity crisis and has forgotten it is a climber - it still hasn't grown tall enough to reach the trellis after four years. I've given it a good talking to and told it to sort itself out or its days are numbered!

    1. Thank you.

There are a couple of book group members who never finish the book, which is a bit irritating as it does impact on the discussion. That's why we decided we always discuss the book including the ending or any plot twists, and it's their own fault if it spoils the book for them.
