229/365: raindrops on the flowers!

Thankfully the rain arrived and although the afternoon storm didn't amount to much in the end, there were a couple of ten minutes periods when the rain was much heavier and the street drains struggled to cope, and it did carry on raining on and off all evening ... it's a start, anyway! I had another migraine threatening so another early night.

I was able to get all the washing dried yesterday without resorting to using the tumble dryer, which was a bonus. Although the temperature had dropped considerably it was still warm enough indoors to dry the thinner things on the airer and the thicker items in the airing cupboard. There's a few pieces to be ironed but while I have the energy, I don't have the enthusiasm so your guess is as good as mine as to whether it gets done.

There's no piano lesson today so it's just the nutrition class (nutrition for healthy eyes) and then I want to carry on with the family tree. With the help from one of my DNA matches I've been able to populate a tricky branch of my paternal grandmother's line and have also managed to take the line back another couple of generations. The latest obstacle is to sort out which one of the three possible Thomas Bryants is the correct one so that should keep me out of mischief today.

I'm hopefully meeting J for a meal this evening but that's dependent on me staying migraine free, so fingers crossed please!

  1. Fingers firmly crossed. Is it the humidity that 'encourages' some of your migraines? I do hope you are well enough to go out. xx

    1. I think it's to do with the changing air pressure more than the humidity. I'm not going out now ... I got the date wrong and we're actually meeting next week. I must be getting old! 😂😂 xx

  2. I do hope that migraine gets chased away quickly, so yes lots of positive vibes coming your way. Nutrition for healthy eyes will be very interesting as there has lately been a lot of research going into that aspect of eye health which with all Mr Man's ongoing eye issues I follow closely.

    1. Thanks Mary-Lou. The migraine is lurking behind my eyes at the moment so I will try to sleep it off soon. I couldn't access the class today so I missed the eye health talk but it will be repeated at some stage so I will catch it then. xx

  3. A lot of my family were on the Welsh border, and they only ever seemed to have two or three names to share among the lot of them. And as for using middle names! Not one of my grandfather's siblings used their first name. They all went by middle names. It must be so satisfying to make a breakthrough. Good luck with Thomas!

    1. I've eliminated one of them so now have to decide which one of the two remaining Thomas Bryants is the correct one. I have one branch of the family that uses middles names and also a couple that used nicknames - it can all get very confusing, but still fun to sort out .

  4. I thought I commented, last night, but, maybe I didn't? Or it went astray. Anyway, I'm glad you got some rain and hope you didn't get another migraine. Hope, too, that you were able to enjoy a meal with your friend.

    1. I had the date wrong and the meal with J was the following week, i.e. yesterday. We've been getting bits of rain but showers instead of a really good downpour, so better than nothing but worrying that the reservoirs are getting so low.

  5. Glad you got some rain. I wonder itf the weather has something to do with your migraine. I get them all the time when a weather front is coming through. Hope you feel better soon!

    1. I'm sure the recent cycle of migraines was triggered by the weather. I'm feeling much better today, thanks.
