133/365: my garden centre haul!

In the end, yesterday turned out to be perfect ... a morning spent choosing plants, an afternoon sitting in the garden remembering good times, and an evening enjoying an Indian takeaway and sharing happy memories with friends.

M will be here this morning to get everything planted and I'll follow up with a garden update post tomorrow. This is probably it for the pots for this year ... I'm saying probably because I didn't see any cosmos yesterday and I'll always make room for that ... and the next thing is to start thinking about the big planters and how I want them to look.

I don't have anything in the diary for the rest of the day but I think it's time to get on and prepare another presentation on the paternal side of the family tree to my siblings and their families. One of my nieces contacted me yesterday to ask how I was getting on so I'm taking the hint and will start putting together a PowerPoint presentation similar to the one I did on the maternal side.

    1. Yesterday was a much better day than I was expecting, so all is good. M dealt with it all in three hours (new planting plus usual maintenance) and the garden is looking good.

  4. What lovely colours you have picked for the pots. I planted out some marigolds and wallflowers on Sunday hope they do ok should provide some colour later on. How lucky are your family that you do a family tree presentation, I am sure they enjoy it very much, I know I would. I have currently gone on an off shot of my family tree and think I will take out world wide for the month of September as I have about 14 different questions pertaining to some family members that went to the USA. Ancestry is a huge rabbit hole for me, I can loose hours on there very easily.

    1. Pinks, purples and whites, with a bit of yellow thrown in the mix and my colours for this year. I like marigolds and especially wallflowers - a good choice for colour.

The first family tree presentation via zoom was well received. That one was to my siblings and their families and my cousins and their families, but this one next one is just dealing with my paternal line so won't include my cousins. I'll get a worldwide subscription again soon so I can finish of the research but there's plenty I can do in the meantime. Ancestry is definitely a huge rabbit hole ... but such good fun!

  8. I've noticed that whenever I'm passing plants for sale, I always mentally check them out, even though there isn't a spare square inch in the garden! Is that likely to ever change?

    1. It's still the same for me so I think it's unlikely 😂
