136/365: the new fuchsia has buds!

After a quiet weekend I'm feeling a bit more energetic so hopefully this will result in a productive day. There's nothing in the diary but there's plenty to do around the house so I won't be bored.

First on the list is to sort out some piano music. There was an enquiry in the local community group for a piano teacher for a 10 years old Ukrainian refugee, which isn't something I can help with, but I can gift him/her some piano music so I need to sort out a selection ready for delivery/collection this afternoon.

I wasn't planning to deal with any of the studio lighting equipment just yet but over the weekend I found details of a company in Bristol who deal in that sort of thing. All the other companies I'd found were at least a three+ hours drive away so finding one that's so close to home, just under an hour away, has renewed my enthusiasm for finding a buyer. The Bristol company asks for detailed photos of the items I want to sell and they will agree the purchase based on those so it's in my interest to take a decent set of images. That'll be the other must do task for today.

I also want to review what else I have left to deal with on the decluttering front and decide what to tackle next. There's really not much to do now before I can say that it's finished!

  1. That's lovely being able to help with some piano music for a young Ukrainian refugee. You've done so well with your decluttering and selling of items and to be nearing the end is a big achievement.

    1. People have been really generous, assuming they follow through with their offers on the community page. One piano teacher has offered free lessons so with that and the music the child will be sorted.

I can't believe I'm so close to the end. I still have a few more things to advertise but mostly am waiting to see if things sell.

  2. Sounds like you'll have plenty to keep you busy, today! Hope the company in Bristol will want all the items you have to offer them. How wonderful to be so close to being decluttered!

    1. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the Bristol company is interested. I'm getting quite excited to be so close to the end ... it's taken me years to get to this stage!

  3. That sounds like a perfect solution to clearing out the lighting items. How lovely that your music sheets could go to someone that probably needs a little routine of normal life, plus music helps the spirit. Regionally there are several families from Ukraine settling in & normally the police auction off the bikes found & not claimed, this year they donated the bikes to the refugee families & because helmets are mandatory for kids, an outpouring of the community donated the bike helmets.

    1. The generosity shown to all the Ukrainian families is heartening. I keep hearing amazing stories of how people are doing their best to help in whatever way they can. The donation of bikes and helmets is wonderful to hear.

  4. Well, I am wishing you luck in finishing up the decluttering. It really does free your mind to know you are done and not have to think about it.

Sweet of you to pass along the sheet music. Have a great Monday.

    1. I'm already experiencing a lessening of stress with all that I've done so far, so to know it's all finished will be amazing.

He was very excited to receive the music. I think his piano playing is an important part of normality for him.

  5. You sound like you are planning a busy day. It's great that you can support the Ukranian refugee right now. It must be so hard for them.

    1. It has been a very productive day. In fact it's going to be a busy week, but not all work ... there's plenty of time to play as well!

I can even begin to imagine how the refugees are feeling.
